Anybody else lost in Lost?

I only got into it recently, and watched the whole of series one in about a week.

Then started on series two. It is so addictive! And if you enjoyed series 1 you will LOVE series 2. Although there are a few crappy episodes but don't let them put you off! I am currently on par with the US showings; watched episode 17 today.

What an amazing episode. It is such a cleverly written and put together drama, the storyline is so intense! They just unvail mystery after mystery, and I can't wait til the next episode!

Also have a look on http://www.4815162342.com, one of the best forums for Lost. There are some great theories on there.

Honestly it is one of the few mystery sort of programs I have ever seen where I have absolutely no idea what is going on, usually I make my own opinions even if they are wrong but with Lost I don't know where to begin!

The next two episodes are ace, seriously.

In fact, 3 of the best episodes of the series so far are 15, 16 & 17. Keep watching!

.... and your point is ?....

Have a look at this forum
- many of us are up to date with Lost, BSG, 24 etc etc; most of whom will purchase the R1 or R2 DVD boxset when the studios finally get round to releasing the latest season; and certainly all of whom throw a frigging fit when those 118 118 guys turn up every other minute on Ch4/E4

As the first season of Lost comes to a close on British terrestrial television the second series continues in America and many people in Britain avidly keep up with one of their favorite shows the day after the American broadcast by means of the Internet.

Why, when the technology is there, don't the TV companies get on the tail end of the bandwagon and offer a subscription service with fast downloads of their shows?

The music industry chased the tail of mp3s before finally dragging themselves out of the valve age and offering downloadable catalogues; a decade late maybe and only after they have lost $millions if not $billions.

A subscription service that allows me a TiVo style service of downloadable programmes of my choice at a highspeed download rate, now, is what the television studios need to get their heads and lawyers round.

It absolutely amazes me that they appear to have learned nothing from the case of mp3s. These people need to try and get ahead of the game or at least get into the game before the last 10 seconds of the 4th quarter.

no offence or uptightedness intended, hence the earlier " "
- though your sarcastic post was quite dated considering new US episodes of Lost have been discussed here for months

Date for Season 2 R1 DVD release is still TBA

You may be in for a long wait...
Season 1 was out on R1 6th Sept 2005 (many of us bought it from Movietyme.com and it was delivered almost two weeks early)

And I've just realised, most people watching on C4 at the moment will have no idea what the Hanso Foundation is (as this is vaguely revealed in later episodes) ! So it will go straight over their head!

It's so creepy, it really is. It feels like its a big experiment on us.

Too right it's weird. Have you listened to the answer machine messages for each of the Hanso employees - quite revealing? Hmm.

Wonder if there was anything done like this in the US?

.. from the wikipedia link I posted earlier:

"As of May 2, 2006, coinciding with the début of Lost season 2 in the UK, the Hanso Foundation website returned with a completely new design and new sections, as the site has now become part of the show's ARG - The Lost Experience, which ABC had previously announced[4] on April 24, 2006.

It was announced that the game would be launched on May 2 in the UK, May 3 in the USA and May 6 in Australia, it also stated "the first clue requires finding a toll-free number that will be released during the show or commercial breaks." On May 2, 2006, the début of Lost season 2 in the UK, included Hanso Foundation advertisements in the commercial breaks. It included a freephone UK telephone number, 0800 66 66 40, and calling this number on May 3 played a recorded message and gave several phone menu options. A recording of the call is included in the external links below. The recorded messages included several pieces of information which, when entered into the www.thehansofoundation.org site, yields further information.

In addition to the information shown openly on the website, fans of Lost have found additional pages and information by decompiling the Flash files on the site.
