Ok, now Admit it, if you checked in on this thread then there is a chance that you will be a fan of WWE. If you are then this is the match line up for Wrestelmaina 22 which is live on sky box office this coming sunday at midnight.

Matches
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Triple H Preview
World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio
Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels (No Holds Barred Match)
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Casket Match)
Edge vs. Mick Foley (Hardcore Match)
United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. JBL
World Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show vs. Chris Masters & Carlito
Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James
Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell
Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle (Playboy Pillow Fight)

So, is anyone else going to be watching the event?
I dont really watch WWE anymore. I dont think I have watched a RAW or Smackdown program for almost 2 years. However there si just something about Wrestlemaina I just dont like to miss. I can honestly say, that I have not missed a wrestlemaina for at least 10 years.
So, come on, admit it, your a fan just like me, its alright, you can own up on this thread. I have!

Ok, I admit it too, I'll be watching but via my motorized dish, no need to pay SKY. Most WWE events are transmitted on 12.5 Degrees West Free to Air if your in the UK and you have at least a 1m Dish

Must admit it is a bit pricy on sky box office at £14.99, but I all I have is just a standard sky digital dish so if I want ot see it I have to cough up the dosh

same here was a big fan about 5 years ago. but always watched wrestlmania, even booked the Monday off work to recoup on sleep.
But at £14.99 bit too pricey, can't help but think after all the rumors we have every year about Bret heart being involved and never does, this is the year that just might be, especially with the Vince vs Shawn match, might just sway me away with £14.99, BUT if it doesn't happen i will stay away till it starts being shown on sky sports.

Usually need to wait until nearer the time but all you need to do is quickly scan the transponders around 45mins before the event starts.

Oh yes.

I've been watching since Wrestlemania 5 in about 1989.

Of course, it was the WWF in those days (and a lot cheaper! )

I am a regular Raw viewer, been watching Wrestling since i was about 5 or 6, i am still only 20 though

I will be watching with Pride, it just does not get any better or bigger than Wrestlemania.

The theme this year is *Big Time*, so expect some Big things to happen, its one of the only PPV's that the WWE go out with the intention of putting on an amazing show with high flying and proper techincal wrestling all in one big show.

Got the day off work the day after

£14.95 isnt a bad price when most Americans have to pay $39.95 for every regular PPV and i think Mania is $59.95.

I'll be a watching....however i'm gonna sky+ it when it airs live, then watch it monday so i can have the volume up and get uproariously drunk (as in whole box of wine plus a bottle of whisky...heh)

£15 for 4 hours of program with NO adverts?....i'm happy :-)
plus you can record it, they dont block the recording of WWE events from the sky box to a DVD recorder.....probably why its £15, same as buying the DVD....

what i think is nice is that they only charge us over here for the more old fashioned main event PPV's....ie Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble etc.......the newer or not so important PPV's Sky actually give free on Sky1 and still no adverts w00t......so altho its £15 for some PPV's, the others are free, so that makes it more like £8 each one....heh

i've only been back in to WWE since i got sky in september last year, hadnt watched it since around 1991 otherwise..lol..its moved on in a lot of ways....heh......

oh, what i'm most looking forward to? Micky James is gonna NAIL Trish Stratus with that fantastic pendulum type move she showed the other week and become the womens champ........normally i'm not that fussed about the diva matches other than for a bit of eye candy, but Micky James, both in her wrestling and her total nutcase personae has really made it worth watching...lol

as for other matches, hmm....i really want Cena to lose....not so much cuz i want Triple H to win, more just Cena annoys me....lol

oh and i do hope Kane and Big Show double choke slam Carlito and Masters a few dozen times, christ, those idiots are sooo annoying...

not that i get in to the stuff that seriously, but ya know......

heh ;-)

Ha, I tell you, I really did used to take it all quite seriously. Bit like being caught up in a story line of a soap opera.
Like I have said though ,I stoped watching the weekly programs and monthly PPVs just after the mania 20. I was looking forward to the goldberg, brock lesner match and it was a complete let down. WWE really droped the ball with goldberg and handeled lesners leaving quite badly. Also Raw turned in to the triple H show which also put me off.
Still, I am A big Hogan mark and with any luck he will be there plus may be an actuall mania aperance by Bret, Stone cold will probably be there, plus I think one or to surprises. All in all its shapping up to be a good show.

I'll be watching it but I won't be paying for it, especially since its the worst on paper card for a long time. I'm at a loss to explain why they have gone with HHH vs Cena and Angle vs Mysterio vs Orton when Edge vs Cena and Angle vs Undertaker would have been far better bets. I'm especially upset that two of the title match finishes have been given away, not that you couldn't have guessed one of them already.

However I'm sure the three way between Angle, Mysterio, Orton, the Money in the Bank match, Trish vs Mickey James and Edge vs Foley should make it an entertaining night.

Oh, and Bret has gone on the record that he won't be at Wrestlemania.

I guess you have not seen the last few PPV's then

As much as i love the Undertaker, he just can't perform to the level we all expect from the wrestlers today.

Angle would have to pull him through the whole of the match for it to be a decent match, where as with Orton and Rey they are far more active in the ring and i for one am looking forward to it.

Edge vs Cena ? nah there match at the Rumble was **** poor (imo) and as much as i think Edge is nearing a proper tittle run we need HHH to give the belt some credibility again after what Cena has done to the bloody thing

I meant Wrestlemania card, obviously its a far better card than say The Great American Bash, but its poor compared to the last 5 Wrestlemanias.

Undertaker's recent PPV match against Angle was one of the best of either guys career. It seems really weird that the feud between the two was dropped to have Undertaker face Mark Henry in a doomed match when both guys would be better off facing smaller opponents.

And Cena's match against HHH will be any better? At least Edge vs Cena had some build up and had the fans booing Edge rather than Cena, all HHH has done is pick (legitimate) holes in Cena's wrestling ability while Cena just has to stand there and take it. Way to look after the cash cow that is Cena.

yeah, i was annoyed the edge/cena thing dissolved so quick and is now edge/foley.....doesnt interest me so much....

i like edge....is good fun....the way lita helps him is much better than most of the manager/partner assists as well.......

i just want cena to lose...lol.....i'm not aware of the outcome of a match, so if anyone is please dont post it here, sad as it sounds i'd rather a surprise...

(bit like the newspapers all fighting to release details of upcoming soap opera plots.....took all the fun out of watching in my mind.....mind you, so did the banality of the scripts....lol)

Cena vs HHH will be a much better match than Cena vs Edge could ever wish to be.

Cena is kinda limited to his style, but i think HHH can bring more out of anyone in the ring today.

HHH vs Edge would have been the best option for me, but Cena sells merch so the Champ he stays for now...

Cena works best when there is a gimmick involved, like his street fight with JBL (the one with the truck), I'd say that has been his best match by miles, and his best feud as JBL wasn't afraid to feed him with openings in his mic work.

If Edge vs Cena had been allowed to continue it could have been up to a cage match in a blow off match by Wrestlemania, which would have been head and shoulders better than the normal match with HHH, especially since:

1) There has been virtually zero build up to the headline match for Wrestlemania
2) What build up there has been has been completely one sided and back to HHH's dark days when he was squashing everybody on the roster
3) HHH has been lack lustre in the ring and on the mic since he came back from his break, just compare his recent match against Shawn Michaels to the ones he had last year (Shawn has also been off his best and is due a break IMO)

It seems to me that there is only room for one person to be the top heel on Raw despite what is best for the company as the rating where up when Edge was champion and back down afterwards.

cuz i'm happy to pay my way in the world, these guys bust their guts to bring me the kind of entertainment that makes me wet myself with laughter after i've drunk a box of wine.....i know sky will take a fair bit, but some of it goes to paying the wrestlers for what in some cases can often be a shortlived career as far as the big money is concerned......

i'd rather see the artists of a media get most of the money, but it just dont work that way sadly at the moment.......one reason i'm a big supporter of Steam, yes it can be buggy for some people, but its a damn good way for a developer to get the game to the gamer with the money being used to make other games, not just allowing a fat cat boss who has never played a game in his life to buy a gold plated diamond encrusted golf cart....lol

Yeah, some of the money that you pay to SKY ends up in the pockets of John Cena

Get real, the money goes straight to Vinnie Mc and he won't get a dime out of me. I love wrestling, but I hold Vince responsible for the deaths of Owen Hart and Edddie Guerrero. Ring of Honour or Pro Wrestling Guerrila, they get my money.

Who thought that this thread would be on the AV Forums!

Get real, the money goes straight to Vinnie Mc and he won't get a dime out of me. I love wrestling, but [B]I hold Vince responsible for the deaths of Owen Hart and Edddie Guerrero[B]. Ring of Honour or Pro Wrestling Guerrila, they get my money.

Who thought that this thread would be on the AV Forums!

The Dude
How the hell is it Vinces fault ? ok Maybe Owen but that was a Freak accident but how is is Vince's fault about Eddies death

Yea the money goes to Vinnie Mac, but guess what he has to pay the talent so in the end they do end up getting our cash

Vince Is the owner of World Wresteling Entertainment, with various family members also holding large amount of shares in the company. Although various departments are run seperatly such as the media nad advertising divisons, Vince has final say in absoulutly everything. No story line or match happens without Vince's say so. Stephaine McMahon his daughter(for those that dont know) is head of the creative department. Shane (his son) is head of the media divison. Linda(his wife) is something like and executive VP for the company.

Why pay for it when you can download it as a torrent on Monday morning

Because, whats the point of watching a live event, if you dont actually watch it live?
It kind of defeats the object. I want to feel like I am part of the event. to see it unfold as it is actually happening.

Anyway.

OK, it's off the topic of this thread and this forum but I had to bite.

Why is Vincent K McMahon responsible for Eddie's death? A manager should be aware of the health issues of his employees. And they've milked his death to the point of tastelessness, I won't watch WWE at all since his death. How can they bring his name up in angles just to get Randy Orton over? Wise up people, the sport may be worked but they are real people and they have real feelings that are affected by this situation.

If you really like wrestling, watch Ring of Honour or Pro Wrestling Guerrila.

Enjoy the show, if you watch it, I'll be watching some shoot interviews with Jake Roberts and the Blue Meanie

benoit vs JBL....usual crap brawl, happy with outcome...

edge vs mick foley, better than i thought it would be, wasnt worried about outcome, was ok

money in teh bank....would like to have seen hardy win, but rvd is good enough, glad flair didnt win...lol

torrie vs candice......couldnt give a monkeys, neither excites me that much....just glad it was a short fight

mcmahon vs michaels, damn good fun, very enjoyable, didnt give a crap who won, just a good laugh.....

undertaker vs henry.........glad UT won.......henry is just a big ponce......14-0 w00t!

heavyweight champ........obvious they would give it to mysterio.....bit boring tbh...

WWE champ................VERY FOOKING ANNOYED.....altho HHH doesnt bother too much, i would much rather have seen him win than another poxy Cena win........Cena's wins are soooooooooooooo pointless........cash cow for teh win....yawn.......no interest....i kid you not i felt like phoning sky an asking for a refund as the outcome of the last and most important match was pathetic........HHH was barely 5inches from the ropes......dont think he would tap out.............booooooo...CRAP....

Stratus vs James for the womens champ....WAAAAAAAAYYYY outshadowed the mens match.......hawwwwt damn this was good...and the insane woman won....and i am damn glad she did given the bullcrap on the mens champ match.......if ever a woman made me feel like i'd love her despite her probably end up killing me its micki james...long may she rule!.....

and 3 bottles of wine later, i'm fissed as a part and about to go one CS:S...i would go on GR:AW but no one likely to be around and i hate trying to join games cuz they silly idiots...
