Cool Some programs to look out for!

I hope you read this in time but there looks to be an interesting program on BBC1 on tonight at 9 called Strange. I have no idea what it is like, but think it could be worth a look.

Secondly on Friday March 15 at 9.30 is Deadringers, it was a radio program on radio 4 due back in April if it is as good as the radio show you wont be disappointed.

Lastly on Wednesday at 9pm on the Sci-Fi channel is Prey originally shown in the early hours of the morning on terrestrial, It is about beings that are our next stage of out evolution, and they want us dead.

I remember seeing Prey, yet another show that only lasted for a season but had some good eps in it. Oh and with James Morrison from Space Above and Beyond and, as most will no doubt have seen the bird in will and Grace. I wonder if she left for W&G?!

Encaser,

You said: "Most will no doubt have seen the bird in Jack and Jill. I wonder if she left for J&J?!"

You mean actress Debra Messing, from US sitcom "Will & Grace", not "Jack & Jill", don't you? Or was she in both of these shows?

Cool

Strike one: watched Strange that was on last night, wish I hadn’t bothered.
It seemed to be trying to be frightening and funny but succeeded at neither. I also thought the very end was predictable, and though out the story was full of coincidences and a little bit juvenile. It looked as last nights was a tester for a probable future series, on last nights performance I hope this was the only one.

As for Debra Messing I’ve just been to IMDB I can only see her in Will & Grace, I think see looks a lot better in Prey, that hair style did not suit her in W&G. Prey is a good series a million miles better than Strange.

Timh, the main bird in The Others is in Ally Mc doofrey - saw a trailer -so perhaps it folded and she left/ or for it?
I liked some of The Others, it needed to get a little more onscreen with the darkness and it would've really got going. I was hoping another series would've done just that, but...

And here’s a reminder for Deadringers Tonight at 9:30 BBC1, I just hope they don’t do the ring, ring thing as a lot of people will cotton on to it, it was great on the radio.

Didn't know this was coming to TV.

Hi laurel

Must say I preferred it on the radio.
Did you ever hear the one when the Doctor rang a car mechanic and asked him to repair his Tardis the mechanic said when do you want to have it repaired, he said yesterday.
When the last show ended they said it would be back in April.

I enjoyed the first series which was on at 9.00pm every Monday.

I missed the first episode of the second series as it crept on at around midnight and C5 kept moving it around. I think that it only lasted a few episodes then disappeared.

One of the main characters is in Enterprise which may account for something but I'm not sure what.

Ian J,

"The Others" on Channel 5 had a rather unsuccesful time, I'm afraid.

Simply put, the original slot of 9pm on Mondays just didn't get as many viewers as other shows in a similar slot. Hence, C5 pulled the show for awhile, and then returned it, but in a late-night, post-midnight slot. Here it seemed to fair better, getting similar viewer figures to the original 9pm slot.

Also, the show only lasted 13 episodes, if my memory serves. In the USA, it was cancelled, mid-season, and hence the show ended in a rather odd way, with no real conclusion or explanation of any sorts. Kind of like being in "limbo", if you know what I mean. Check out the following link, for more info on the show:

http://www.epguides.com/Others/

You may also want to give Channel 5 a quick phone call, and see if they have shown all 13 episodes or not. Their number is: 08457-05-05-05

Hope this is of some use to you.

Yeah, watched it last night and I think I prefer the radio one as well.

The doctor bit was good though.

I do remember the mechanic one. I also remember when they rang one of the other doctors - think it was Sylvester McCoy and he ended up saying "Tom - Have you been drinking?". Classic.

Might give it another chance yet.

Cheers

I seem to remember one when they rang Tom Baker and he gave as good as he got.

It could have been a one off, or an other tester, as I see it is not on this week. In it’s place is The Vicar Of Dibley.

Anybody watch Prey last week? Bad news though it clashes with Alias.

Prey's repeated at 7pm on Saturday. This is my 3rd attempt to watch this, but I can't remember why I gave up previously.
