Angry Sky Galactica scheduling weirdness

Well I just watched watching ressurection part 2 of Galactica on sky one (i wrote this at 21:50 ish) because some muppets in scheduling seems to have decided to put part 1 at 20:00.

I only realised when i looked at digiguide part way - at first i thought they'd forgotten to show part 1.

Just so i understand this - was the episode at 8pm, a new one and continuation of last weeks episode, followed by the next new one at 9pm?.

Both of tonights episodes are repeated at the sametimes on skytwo on thursday - i;ll be chucking a tape in then.

Sky do like to keep people on the ball. IIs almost like they want you to press the 'i' button, and (sometimes) reveal and spoil the plot.

Yes both were new episodes as continuations of last week's Pegasus storyline.

Makes you wonder why SKY bother having an EPG or giving listings to dozens of newspapers and magazines when it seems some people never read 'em or don't listen to the nice lady who gives you this info during the closing credits.

Then again if you have SKY+ the series links takes care of all that

My Sky+ series link did ok

The only thing Sky cocked up on last night was putting next week's episode guide in Resurrection Ship pt2's description. Doh.

Folks,

I made a note of the Scheduling Change in my usual TV Update here! Scroll down, to the bit about Tuesday 22nd March, and you'll see it! It might be advisable if some of you read it in future!

None of you would have needed to miss the episodes, and Sky aren't to blame, as the changes were announced some seven days ago, on their EPG, and have always stated that Parts 1 and 2 of "Resurrection Ship" would be aired back-to-back this week (and for all the various repeats on both Sky 1 and Sky 2), with last night's episodes starting at 8pm!! All repeats will start one hour earlier than usual, so double-check your Sky EPG!

Did they actually say it at the end of last weeks episode then?

That's great..... but I'm with NTL and their slow, pathetic excuse for an epg doesn't help much with only 3 days advance details - and, no, changing to sky is not an option for me.

Ah, Battlestar , my favorite subject

As far as I know sky did advertise at the end of last weeks that both parts would be on this week. As pooch said it has been listed in the scheduals all week as well.

I have both eps edited together on my dvd hard drive if you would like a copy. or you can simply look out for the repeats on sky this week.

Fair enough, I may have missed the announcement at the end of the last week, though I wish they had shown the first ep at 9:00 and next at 10. Still annoyed though.

Dave-S - Thanks very much for your offer - I'll see if I can catch the repeat tonight. It means missing 8 simple rules at 20:30 and having to set the ntl box to record the next day. They should have made it standard for all set top boxes to have twin tuners from the launch of digital.

Sorry to go off topic slightly, but did the actress who played Admiral Cain also play Lt. Ro in Star Trek next gen?

Yes, Michelle Forbes.

BTW - the original (Commander) Cain was played by Lloyd Bridges - another sex change-character.

The originalmcomander cain in the 1970s bsg was sort of a general patton type played glorioulsy over the top by loyd bridges. " I have had them on thier knees in this sector with just one battlestar, with 2 Ill blast them all over the cosmos!"

I thought this Cain was great - absolute searing intensity - you just had to be glad that No.6 took her out - although it might have been interesting to draw it out an episode or two more.

I thought it was a crap piece of scheduling.

No I didn't see the trailer at the end of last weeks show...

No I didn't see any trailers during the week....

And when I saw the EPG it said the 8.00pm show was 'Part 1'

And I assumed it was a repeat of last weeks episode.

We were all completely baffled for the 1st 20 mins of episode 2, until I figured out what they had done. Seems completely stupid to me as it appears to be the only 2 part episode done this way, that I know of.

Missed it again on Thursday due to other commitments. Is it repeated again over the weekend at all?
