Just seen this. Love the show and will be getting it on preorder soon.

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of NCIS: The Complete First Season for 30th May 2006 priced at $68.99 SRP. From acclaimed executive producer, creator, and director Donald P. Bellesario (JAG, Magnum PI), comes the top-rated action crime drama NCIS. Starring Mark Harmon, the six-disc DVD set includes all 23 action-packed first-season episodes that chronicle the operations of an elite team of special agents whose mission is to investigate crimes connected to armed forces personnel.

Have you been watching the show on FX? its up to season 3 now isnt it? I must admit I catch it when I can, But I have missed lots of eps from all three seasons. This box set is a definate purchase for me.

I watch my shows from the US so I am probably ahead of you. I have been a fan for a long while now, briliiant show. Love it.

I want more shows to be earmarked for HD release.

My movie buying is almost non-existent and I don't see any reason (with blue laser this year) that the studios are not more forward thinking, mind you having a format war isn't helping

I have seen a few episodes of NCIS in HD and it looked very good. I can see why you are waiting for the HD release rather than the standard SD release especially if you have seen the episodes before.

I've seen every one of NCIS so far shown on FX. Their picture quality is very poor for this show (but not for others so it must be the masters they are using) but before I fork out £35 or so, I will wait to see what it looks like on Five.

Seen a few HD caps and well the are gorgeous but the 350meg AVI caps are better than FX and letterboxed!
Granted on a flat panel the bitrate shows it's weakness but then again the same can be said for FX but they also have issues with the colour/warmth of the presentation and well it's 4:3

Five have bought the show?

Yep, "Navy NCIS" Season 1 starts on Five, in about two weeks time. I don't have the exact dates to hand, but it will be on a Friday night, with either an 8pm (if my memory serves me right), or 9pm start time, and it's in Widescreen too!

Thats good news, The quality of the picture should be a lot better than that of FX and FX+1 and like you said pooch, it should be in widescreen as well.
