It's supposed to happen in realtime isn't it. ie there are 24 1 hr episodes representing the 24hr time period.

If this is so then I thought it was an OK attempt at teaching us about the main protaganists. I wasn't convinced that a kid could run away, meet a friend, get a lift to a shop, get drunk and make out, watch her friend have sex, then drive off in to the night...all in 1hr though.......Apart from that it was OK....nothing special yet.

Gordon, you have to remember these are teens and as such I bet the sex didn't take long, as memory serves about a fag/joint and a half! What got me was the daughter had a mobile, why didn't she use it instead of risk real harm? I mean, if I were her and my mate had just given her self up and the lads still wanted more I'd of been imagining ritual sacrifice next.
The assassin bit was well OTT, though strangely appealing to the eye, but how to subtley likely draw attention to yourself. <mental image of CNN talking to miscellaneous dude>
I thought that Sutherland's assistant asked far too many conditional questions to be realistic more on the basis of their intimated relations than protocol. And also the other lovelorne member giving it the, I'll break/bend the rules for you but not my boss. Moreover, a potential threat to National Security is at stake and we are suppose to believe agencies hum and har so much over acting or shoe treading. I bet the old Russian Guard were watching this kicking themselves thinking, "I knew it was like that. I told you Yuri we could of fired the nukes in the eighties and they'd have been so busy arguing over who was/n't doing what for who and for why we could have taken them".
But seriously I did like it, as Gordon said, as a grounding for better later hopefully. It's been shot well so let's hope that's not all there'll be left to say. I've always liked Kiether and hopefully this time he's in something worthwhile, and not just another of a series of US paybacks/justifications as is being churned out of late. No disrespect to those that have suffered.

I'm upto 2pm now, and believe me, you have no idea how many plot twists there are, it's edge of the seat stuff. It does get better, although i thought it was fantastic in the first place.

I didn't watch it on BBC2, so can somone tell me how they handle they time splits, or if they're there at all? On the US broadcast, you get a little clock that tells you the time at the beginning and end of the adverts, and one at the end of the ep that ticks over to the next hour. If the BBC2 version is only 43mins long.. it's not really gonna add up is it?

Luc, it does show the clock on B2. You just have to 'clock' it up as yet another US show saying it's an hour long when they never are, even though this one stresses the point!

7 i'd guess. X-Files is 22/23/24 eps per series, and that's on 7 discs isn't it?

I agree with skimber, more cliffhangers last night than Stallone! I knew that black haired woman would be a bad 'un.

A good feature for a DVD release would be 10-15 mins of extra footage per episode so it really is realtime...

If they've considered a DVD release from early on then they might have actually edited the episodes down from a full hour to accomodate the adverts?

I have not seen the program so I can't comment but surley if it is meant to be in real time then it would be near impossible to do, I.e scene changes etc, how do they aproach things like this.

it was episode 2 last night, which is repeated on BBC choice on friday night, so if you catch that you've only missed one episode.

Also you can get a summary of the first episode here:
