Buffy Musical ep this Thursday. I complained!!!

I heard that Sky were going to show the cut version of this ep on Thursday. So, as any self respecting Buffy nut would, I wrote and complained.

Doubt it was just me but they have just written back saying that the full extra 12 minute version will be shown on Thursday. It'll be pan and scanned though they say, not letterboxed as it was in USA. Oh well, it's a start!

No need to mention TV programmes... just mention channels.

ITV. Should be ashamed of themselves.

God knows what demand there is for ITV2...

Cool

Put up with 20 minutes, and could stand no more, shame I did not switch off earlier, only caught last part of Driven, is this repeated, Driven that is.
Funny it was in W/S but my TV did not open it up! Buffy that is.

What now I cannot get on the bulletin board.

Caught about five seconds of Gellar screeching through a note, remembered why I wasn't watching it and went back to what I was doing in the first place (which by the way was reading 'Muhammad Ali: King of the World' by David Remnick - best Ali book I've read yet - highly recommended).

I agree with the thread title... I think someone should complain.

Call me sad!

well i I thoughly enjoyed last nights Buffy ep there were some great moments. And amazingly they showed it letterbox, admittedly not anamorphic but hey "Small moves" and I assume it wasnt cut or at least not by much as it didn't finish until 9:05.

But argh!!! the anouncer talked over the music at the end

I thought it was great. I nearly died laughing at some points

OK, smg doesn't have the greatest voice ever, but all in all they were pretty impressive. And the musical format helped to get through a huge chunk of plot in one hit.

not everyones cup of tea I spose though....

I thought it was pretty amazing. If you hadn;t been following the season or even last two seasons then much of it's impressiveness will have been lost.

Marti Noxon's singing as the lady getting a parking ticket was pretty good. I also can't believe that Joss Whedon wrote the original music and as well as the script. Bit of a talent....

SMG was much better than I thought she would be. AH wasn't that great but the rest were. I'm going to re-watch it tonight I think...

Enjoyed it immensely despite being a non-fan of musicals.

Like has been said earlier on this thread, the sheer volume of "secrets" exposed via this episode was very impressive.

Very brave and unusual bit of TV IMO.

Have to admit I liked it for it's jolt to musicals being sh*te usually!! And have to agree that the subtext involved was inspired.
Amber Benson being the TRUE voice that sang, as it were.
There were so many nods that I'd love to sit down with Joss and say, "Was that...".
For me at least, me mind sprang to Magnolia with Zander in the respect and tame moment. Anya in the seated scene with Zander, reminded me of Lilly in Blazing Saddles!! The demon woz just so Jazzy he was kewl - and yes I hate that saying/spelling! The key that once was, was kit'd out West Side Story big time. Mr Head was reliving his past stage moment to effect that Richard must've been reliving his moment of inspired writing. Hoki nods to Star Wars - dodgy religion. And many more with numbered horn blowers etc. etc. etc.
But what an ending. Angel revisited, with Buffy doing the, "I need to feel something".
Damn. I really, really hate musicals but this is really the one to watch with so many incidentals that work
As a side note (!), apparently all the letters were for naught. As it turns out the only reason Sky showed the full thing was due to B2 securing the rights to the full thing and then, unusually, telling Sky. Who, then went oh sh*te and got them too after only originally getting the 4:3 cut version. Who sais capitalism and competition isn't healthy? Well I do usually. <moves back to corner and complains that I didn't get an "Hurumph" from that guy and tells him to watch his ass!
And by AH I assume you mean Aly, Gordon, hence the limited song scenes for the ever darkening witch - trying not to sound like Noel off of Frasier - rain coat firmly hidden away.
