doc martin last episode - what happened at the end?

Please could someone tell me what happened at the very end of the last episode of the current (2nd) series of Doc Martin? My Sky Plus stopped recording just as the doctor stepped out of his surgery post-hangover and his morning clinic. I hoped to get this info off someone who had recorded the programme off Freeview, but their recording stopped at this point as well.

Ancilliary question - what the **** is going on with ITV's timing on digital TV programmes? I've had several programmes cut short like this in the last six months.

SPOILER

Whilst the doc and girl were drinking wine, the doc told her he loves her alot. And then fell asleep on the table.

But the next day, when he saw her outside, he could not remember much, or he did, but did not want to show it, and she said she also loves him too, and he got really defencesive, like he does, and the doc said she might have some sort of problem, he began to waffle on about what she might have and even suggested she might be a stalker, as the camera panned away for the end credits, she slapped him. So back to square one.

(waking up with that dog was fuunny).

Great series by the way. Clunes is brillant.

I might be worth setting your Sky+ to add either 2 or 5 minutes to the end of recordings. I have mine set to add 5 minutes on the end and it only just got the ending of Doc Martin, makes me wonder if ITV do it on purpose.

I think they do a lot to suit the advertisers also spoil you for the starting programs on other channels.

To mix metaphors the watchdog overseeing them is a toothless tiger.
