Just finished Season 1 of these excellent series (bit behind the rimes I know ) and getting into Season 2. My query is that in Season 1 there is a female character Mandy (actress Moira Kelly) who is a fairly intergral part of proceedings. However she seems to have dissappeared completely in Season 2 (very obviously absent in opening episodes). I realise this is most likely down to some contractual thing with actress or similar but my question is was this 'dissapperance' ever addressed within the series itself ? I have missed any references to Mandy in new season so far (up to episode 5) ?

As far as I can remember, her "disappearance" wasn't ever really mentioned, except perhaps in passing, in the sense of a character saying she had moved on / relocated / left the job.

Sorry I can't be more helpful to you. Even the IMDB doesn't give the reason. The actress, however, did go on to star in "One Tree Hill" 2 years later.

My understanding is that towards the end of season 1 the charecter was becoming a bit redundant. This is why she was probably droped from the show.

Welcome the the West Wing world of Mandyville.

She was the first resident but there are many other characters that dissapear, never to be refered to again by any of the remaining characters.

In fact every Season is great.

..but yes characters come and go without mention.

Like me do you have to pause every now and then to wonder what the hell's going on or what they're talking about!!!!

I know the world of politics is cuthroat and cynical but this is tad harsh eh ?

Anyway great series always watchable and very funny at times.

No mate, I am pretty sure that she was in a few eps after all that. Cant be certain though. If she was sacked, it was never done on camera
