Press Gang: Complete Series
(All 5 series, in one giant set, approximately £79:99!)

Escape From New York: Special Edition

AND NOW - THE BEST I'VE SAVED FOR LAST!!!!

Babylon 5: The Complete Universe!
(One of the most highly-demanded DVD sets ever requested by the British public, is finally unleashed on October 24th from Warner Bros UK!!! Every single solitary movie and episode, of B5 ever made, in the correct order, all in the proper and fully-corrected 16:9 anamorphic widescreen prints, with properly encoded DD5.1 sound! All for just £199:99 (RRP)! The set includes:
- Every single B5 episode from all 5 seasons
- All 5 of the spin-off movies, "B5: In The Beginning", "B5: Thirdspace", "B5: A Call To Arms" and "B5: The River Of Souls"!
- The alternate version of the B5 Pilot Episode "The Gathering" (On 4th January 1998, TNT broadcast a special version of the movie. It had been reedited considerably, with new scenes added and a few of the existing scenes reordered. Some of the computer graphics were also retouched, and it had a new score by series composer Christopher Franke!)
- The entire 13-episode spin-off series "Crusade"
- "B5: Legend Of The Rangers" movie
- All of the above, in cosmetically matching DVD cases, with one, gigantic spine-image, in a superb, heavy-duty, ultra-deluxe case, with dark blue/purple plinth base!
- AND... a strictly limited edition B5 poster, showing the characters, the 5-year storyline arc, and the B5 ship itself, is included as well!

Me want! Me want! Me want! See here! for more details!)

Wow!!!!! That's a lot of "must-have" DVD's being released! God knows what'll get released between now and Christmas! Whatever happens, it's going to be an ultra-expensive month!

I've got Buffy, Angel and Farscape so I am ok there, Charmed I'll buy on R1.

However the Bab5 set looks interesting, very intersting since I have always avoided the last release due to it's technical problems.
Amazon have it for £150, tempting

Been waiting for something like this that has the whole show in one set.

May have to put in the overtime

Hi,

I've got to get that B5 boxed-set... no matter what! Not only is this a Region 2, UK-only exclusive, to which we can all stick our collective fingers up at B5 fans across the pond , but flogging this on e-Bay is likely to double the original cost... if you ever wanted to sell it, of course!

But, it looks like after all the campaigning from Babylon 5 fans over the years, Warner's are finally going to give us the set that we always wanted! I'm just glad I couldn't ever afford to buy the original releases! Let's hope it's as good as it sounds!

With a minimum of 39 discs, this could well be the biggest, and most demanding DVD set ever released in Europe!

Just managed to pick up season 5 for 25 quid from play (thats the most ive paid for any of the sets) still need crusade and LOTR as well - waiting for crusade to drop under 17 quid (cheapest ive seen it so far is £18.99)

Thankfully all my sets match up and i got the region 1 movie boxset which has all 5 movies (and it actually plays as a region 0)

GREAT! I'm not into TV Boxset series so it's gonna be a cheap month for me

Then again it's been a pretty poor year for films this year and I can't think of ANY DVDs to put on my Xmas list this year

Oh yes Going to have to put the holiday on hold, delaying paying the electric bill, and not feed the dog just to get the money together for it

Yep you will be able to buy 'Lengend of the Rangers' on its own, its actually mentioned in the original post and should be around £12.99

I had the B5: Universe Boxset pre-ordered but I can only really afford either B5 or the X-Files Boxset so have gone for the X-Files Boxset as I have it pre-ordered for £132.99 which is a bargain not to be missed, might pickup the B5 collection later in the year if its still available.

Also, thought I would mention that you can get the R4 release of Charmed Season 3 now for around £25 delievered which beats the £45/50 price that shops want for the R2 releases and is only slightly more expensive than the R1 set.

Where did that come from? "Return To Escape From New York" is a 'making of' featurette!

While the Babylon 5 box-set looks very tasty does it contain the same region 2 versions of in the beginning and the gathering which lack 5.1 sound and audio commentaries as before which are available on region 1(which is actually region 0)?

With the B5 boxset, is it the same reframed CGI shots that are in the current boxsets? Or (highly doubtfully) have they actually redone the CGI??

If they haven't redone the CGI I'll not buy it....

Anyone know??

Hi,

Aprout - The "Return To Escape From New York" is a mini-film, and NOT a featurette as you claim. How do I know this? From the trade adverts and promo material advertising the product itself!

PinkProbeGT - The CGI hasn't been redone at all. It's exactly the same as before. However, the widescreen formatting on some of the earlier DVD episodes HAS been redone, to correct it, and so have the some of the episodes that had faulty 5.1 sound.

Right, so it wouldn't be the exact same 'Return to Escape from New York' doc that's on the region 1 edition then?

Unfinished sequel movie, my xxxx!

Still, I'll be happy to be proven wrong, & I await reviews of the new R2 SE with baited breath!

Ahh well, can't justify the money just to fix the couple of bugs on a couple of episodes Maybe they'll wait for HD-DVD to remaster all the CGI
