Thriller (70s TV Series) Out on DVD 18th July

Just seen THIS on play.com

Complete 43 episode for £75.

The classic Thriller TV series by Brian Clemens is out on DVD on 18th July
(i'm sure this has been available on DVD before?).

Sure it will look very dated now but it used to scare the hell out of me when I was younger.

Some famous Brit starred in this, so the acting should still hold up.

You know I can hardly remember any of the episodes but one thing I won't forget is that haunting theme tune along with that 'convex mirror image' that used to make you jump out of your skin at the ad breaks

I'm tempted with this one but £75 maybe too much that may well look laughable today.

More info on the series (and downloadable theme tune) HERE

Some useful background to the series here

I rememeber enjoying the series when it was first shown, but thats about it (and i was pretty young). I'd like a punt at this myself, but thats about £40 too much for me.

Alos reminds me of the short-lived 'Chiller' anthology, made in the 1990's, as i caught one of those recently - 'Toby', starring Martin Clunes. Enjoyed that one a lot.

Damn. I picked up series 1 of this on DVD a few months ago now it seems like they just release the whole boxset without giving me the opportunity the buy the other series seperately. DOH!

Anyway I must say I really enjoyed series 1. It's very dated but that's actually it's appeal. You'll recognise loads of people and some of the stories are really good. Don't know if I want to shell out 75 quid for it though.

This is actually a re-release as many of the original sets had a fault. Details at Network's website:

Wasn't there another similar type of series in the 80s called 'Beasts'?
Think it was on BBC1. I remember one episode about a couple being trapped in their new home by rats!

That's right. Nigel Kneale's "Beasts". Bad copies of this regularly pop up on ebay for silly money but I did read on a forum last year that there is to be a DVD release of this in 2005 - not sure how reliable the info is though. I would love to see this, heard great things about it.
