Be interesting to see if they can make it work for non-americans, as the pacific bit of WW2 has always been portrayed worse than the European conflict. Maybe it's because it was "america by itself" and hence they feel they could get away with more jingoism and patriotic ranting and others wouldnt notice.

Personally i think they should have done a second series set on the Eastern Front from the Russians side; fall back to moscow, the fight back, Stalingrad, grind to Berlin... Not to marginalise western Europe, however was it something like 92% of all German casalties were on the Eastern Front?! Thats where the fighting was, but of course do you really want to make the Russians the heros, or would you get the funding?

So yeah i'm all a bit dubious. I wonder if they'll do the real flag raising of Iwo Jima, or the fake/recorded/famous one?
