where was the rumour from?. I've been asking them last year and this, with the same old useless non-comital answers.

HI,

Okay, here are the facts, which I have explained a few times before, and have taken from the horses mouths'!

1) Channel 4 DO own the rights to air Season 10 of "NYPD Blue" on TV this year. They never confirm when it will air, more than two weeks before it airs. So, there's little point e-mailing or phoning them, as they will simply say "We never confirm our schedules more than two weeks in advance, but NYPD Blue will return this year." Basically, it will be on, but nothing's been confirmed yet. Most fans of the show, (including myself) are expecting it to return possibly over the Summer, but in a late-night schedule! They will almost certainly buy the rights to the final two seasons, i.e. 11 and 12, because the outcry if they didn't would be enormous. As soon as anything more concrete is known, information WILL BE POSTED on the AV Forums website, in the TV Guide thread! So, fear not, folks.

2) Fox didn't intend stopping the NYPD Blue DVD boxed sets in the UK. In fact, Season 3 was being advertised on some DVD websites, for last year, but at the last minute the release was postponed. The only reason given by Fox, was that they had other shows that they needed to get released onto UK DVD first, before "NYPD Blue". However, rumours abound, that the season boxed sets were stopped, due to (alleged) low sales figures. Simply put, there's no news as to whether Fox will release all remaining 10 seasons (NYPD Blue Seasons 3 through to 12 inc.), but fans are still campaigning for their release. Again, if anyone hears anything concrete, we will post it on the AV Forums website.

If Fox didn't charge such a higih-price for season box sets, especially for programmes with a lower profile in the UK, then perhaps their sale figures might be more reasonable and also entice new-comers to try this great show out.
