Cool Film Four Free Weekend

It was advertised that Film Four will be free this coming weekend, the last few times they did this only those with a SKY subscription could receive it.

It starts on Friday and finishes on Monday at 6pm.

Cheers for the heads up Garrett! Is there anything notable coming on? My DVD recorder has been sitting far too idle recently!

Nope, no ad breaks during the films, but you will get talking over the end credits, despite F4 saying they wouldn't.

Gave up my subscription the day F4 weekly came on line, excising the extreme channel, still haven't forgiven them.

Ok thanks Simon - talking over the credits I can just about handle. Ad breaks would have been unforgivable though!

Cool

As I said in my first post you may need a minimum Sky subscription to receive this. I have just looked and it is blocked for me.
When they said completely free it was not abolutly right.

HI,

In note that Channel 4 are starting to trail their Premiere showing of "The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring"! It doesn't say when it will be on, except "Coming Soon", but my guess is it'll be on in under a month!

However, knowing C4, it'll either be cut, or else have a thousand ad breaks, meaning this 180 minute film, will be shown in a 4-hour slot! Oh, and crushed credits promoting FilmFour as well, will undoubtedly be included for your viewing pleasure! Thank God for DVD's!!

Pooch

P.S. Anyone else feel that FilmFour is really, really dire nowadays, and not a patch on what it used to be, when you had FilmFour, FilmFour World and FilmFour Extreme channels instead?!

I completely agree with you Pooch film for hasn't been the same since film four/+1, Film Four World and film four extreme!

To be honest I think it's complete rip-off now where they show the same films in the same time every night of the week. What's the point in that! I liked to see a good selection of films being shown in a good selection of time slots not just between 8pm and 12pm but into the twilight hours. now it's just crap & I wouldn't subscribe if you paid me, really, but it used to be a great film channel.
