The Red Balloon, Any One Else Seen This Old Film?
Has anyone seen this film I was fortunate enough to see it when I was quite young at the pictures as it was a short film before the main one, and was not looking for how they made it and found the story delightful and could have watched it again and again.
The premise is about a red balloon who befriends a small boy.
I managed to see it again years later on TV which I thing was the only ever screening of it on TV but even though I could see how the special effects were worked I still though it a charming and yes thought provoking film.
For more info on the film go here.

Yes, saw it in my junior school many moons ago, absolute quality. I think it has been screened a few years ago as a schedule filler for half hour on BBC.

Not quite, it was happy in an other way (I will not say as it is a SPOILER), but I must say it must have been a hard kid that did not shed a tear.

I absolutely LOVE this short film.
I also loved The Last Train and gave up all hope of ever seeing that again, (not that you can compare the two in any way!), but Sci-Fi UK recently showed that. Maybe I'll get lucky and see this again.

Marvellous movie. The kind of gentle fantasy the French excel at. Would love a (non-EBay) DVD of this.
