Possible New Dr Who Airing Date
I was reading yesterday that it will start on the 23 March but today I heard it would be more like the 25th March for the Easter weekend.
And they are going to be long one off stories.

So far all that has been said is that there will be 13 x 45 minute episodes.
There is no word yet on whether stories will overlap several episodes.
26 March is a more likely date as I think the Beeb are keen to get Who back on Saturdays.
Lets hope it's as good as the new Captain Scarlet.

OK you got me on that one.
I think the Beeb are banking on Who being a success and with Russell T Davies writing some of them it should be good.

I can't wait for this. Doctor Who back after a 9(?) year absence With Enterprise cancelled it's Doctor Who and Battlestar that are (hopefully) going to offer some decent TV SciFi

If you discount the 1996 Paul McGann American Dr Who TV movie, it's been 16 years since Dr Who was on BBC.
There is of course a catch 22 here. If the beeb make the how to appeal to the fans it may not be that popular with the general viewers. If they make it to appeal to a wider audience they will alienate the fans who (sic) will complain that this is not proper Dr Who.
Either way I can't wait until the end of March.

I think it's a safe bet to say that the fans will whinge whatever - you only have to goto a Dr Who forum and you see dozens of them complain the DVDs are being released too fast to realise they aren't all sane - I mean what sort of fan complains they are getting "too much" Who on DVD!?!

Speaking as a former Dr Who fan (it took a full frontal lobotomy, and years of psycho therapy, oh and the last Dr was crap) I have to agree.
Personally speaking I hope they aim it primarily at the casual viewer and not the fans or else it will be as bad as it was when it finished in 1989.

Entirely agree.
I see DVD Times have heard rumours of an October release for the DVDs:

Dr.Who is back!
See BBC news story here
If that doesn't inspire people to get searching on the net then I don't know what will! Remember the old days when the BBC just trailed programs instead of promoting them like this.
I'd love to write a mini review but then I'd have to give the game away as to whether I've seen it....
Regards,
Ian Guinan
