Top Gear - Who is he?

Does anyone know who the Stig actually is? Its probably been discussed earlier or someone out there knows but Im damned if I can find it.

And does anyone else think that Richard Hammond looks like Puss In Boots from Shrek 2?

The original Stig who had the black outfit was Perry McArthy but he had to leave once he blabbed in his autobiography.
Since then there have apparently been a few different Stigs including Damon Hill

I was told that Tiff Needell was the first Stig. As he was contracted to 5th Gear on Five, he had to go undercover on Top Gear.

I think it had to be someone with F1 experience the way he drove that F1 car round the track - my guess is Damon Hill.
Personally I think that Richard Hammond looks like the little old Irish bloke in Benny Hill who used to get his head slapped in every episode

Perry Mcarthy was the orginal stig.

Perry has driven F1 as pro.

Current Stig is Ben Collins, youngish british racer. He was also the driver of the Merc the guy parachuted into.

The driver was the Finnish race of champions winner, Heikki Kovalainen, who is a young driver in the Renault driving programme.

Perry & Ben have both been the Stig on Top Gear, thats definate!!!

I don't know if someone else drove the F1 car.

As far as I know there only have been the two Stig's.

Regards
Daren
