Cool The Old TV Movie Thread With The Accent On Horror and Sci-Fi

Me and Kevo got talking about these old TV movies that use to be shown on TV pretty regular, where classics in there own right..
The Daddy has probably got to be The Night Stalker staring one of my favorite actors Darren McGavin as Carl Kolchak who uncoverd a vampire yet every one though he was cookoo. The character was revived in The Night Strangler and later a series was made of it which was shown late in the morning on the BBC late 80’s early 90’s.

An other that will be remembered by those who saw it is The Norliss Tapes staring Roy Thinnis I think it started with someone playing a tape which is the diary of Roy Thinnis’s character which tells of his investigation. The plot was a statue of a demon keeps coming to life to collect blood to bring it to life with the soul of a millionaire who has just died.

Alas they would rather show reality shows than stuff like this.

Will come back with some more later if they are not mentioned in the mean time.

I just purchased "The Martian Chronicles"
picture quality is surprisingly good for 1980

shame "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" 1974 series is only out on VHS
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071003/

but "The Night Stalker" + "The Night Strangler" Tv movie 1972 is available on dvd, you just cost me money as I saw this and had to buy it (£6.61 delivered from the states)

Cool

Not forgetting an other classic which was one of Steven Spielberg first efforts, Duel staring Dennis Weaver.

Also the Love War with Lloyd Bridges and Angie Dickinson about two alien races sending 2 of there kind to Earth in human form to kill the other and the winner the spoils but one side sends a lot more than one down (the cheats).

I also liked The Aliens Are Coming which gets a bit of a knocking from others but was about aliens trying to destroy the Earth by taking over humans already here.

Not entirely accurate...

I picked up the whole season on 4 dvd's for £18 including postage off e-Bay. Not the official set I imagine

All appear to be grainy tv rips but we are talking 30 yr old low budget telly here!
