Zatoichi - Excellent film!

I've just watched this film(R3 2 disc from CD-wow),
I thought it was great!
I would recommend this to any fim fan,but to all
fans of 'Hero' and 'HOFD'(I love both these films! )
if you have not seen 'Zatoichi' I would highly recommend it.
Dare I say,but I think IMHO that this is better than both - Just!

A super film indeed. I love the mechanical/clockwork action of the field workers to music, a very nice touch!

It also falls under Turtle's Axiom:

"No film containing Light Sabres, Samurai, Submarines or Miniguns, can be called crap!"

Just wicked, never saw it coming (literally!). Shame the film doesn't have a little more "pace" - I'd watch it more often if it did!

I LOVE the showpiece ending! Great film.

I picked it up on R2 DVD a couple of months ago, apul.
HMV I think.

It could be withdrawn at the moment, pending a re-release of some sort, if you are having difficulty finding it.

Apul,
I don't know about a cinema release, but you can get it on a UK R2 release.
It was released on a basic 1 disc film only which I've seen for rental(not sure
if that version ever retailed.)
But,you can buy a 2 disc UK R2 SE which is supposed to have superb picture and
sound quality,and very good extras.
It comes in a presentation box and it costs over £20 on CD-wow.

Apul,

There seem to be a few on-line retailers doing the 1 disc R2 ('only' DD 5.1) for
£13.99 (dvd.co.uk being one).

If you have a MR player I would recommend the R3 2 disc from CD-wow,it has IMHO
very good picture quality and an excellent DTS track (Sounds like it could be full bitrate).

At £9.99 (less discounts) a bargain to boot!

The film had a limited release in March/april 2004. Even my local Cineworld (Swindon) screened the film so it did get into the major cinema chains.
