totally agree tv season is back and i love it . alias S4 premier, i loved it and being a big fan of the show i wanted a good one after a poor season 3. i was impressed i got what i wanted and i think both 24 and alias or set up for good series so hopefully they get picked up for Season 5's .I also like joey and the last 2 episodes have been marginally better than some of the previous which were pretty poor. still isnt the same as friends

i think i'm going to wait a while before i start watching 24, especially if there's gonna be another 2 episodes this week.. it's always agony watching just one cos they always end on a cliffhanger dammit! at least with 4 episodes i can be more or less sure i won't be able to watch them all in one sitting!

Did you think the first episode of Alias S4 was a case of, damn we didn't get great ratings in season 2, and got awful ratings in season 3, so let's just forget they happened and go back to what we had in S1..?

I've found Joey to be good, never as good as friends, but perhaps as good as Friends season 1.. who knows, it'll never get 10 years to prove it's as good, but i'm enjoying it while it lasts

I read somewhere that Sky will be showing 24 premiere on Sky One and Sky travel simultaneuosly on the 20th Jan. This is to tempt all of us on Freeview! I don't have Sky so I'm not sure if I can tease myself with 2 hours of Season 4, then wait for the DVD!!

I'll do what i did with 24 season 3 - wait till around September and borrow my mates DVD version - no adverts, no logo's, no spoilers in the week, best picture/sound quality. This series deserves a lot better than sky can give it.

Sky One showed a 5-minute 'prequel' for this tonight. Pretty tasty!
They also showed a trailer for the real thing just now - mmmm!

It's on Sunday nights then - didn't Sky show it on Thursdays last time? I prefer Sunday so I am happy. I will be Sky+ing these and watching them back slightly delayed to miss the ads. I am unable to wait for the DVD release!

SPOILERS (of a very minor type but you never know around these forums... )

Jack SWORE! And he's got a BIRD!

Hi,

Anyone being listening/watching the news over the past 48 hours, may have noted that the Muslim community are up-in-arms (no pun intended!) about the alleged negative portrayal of Muslim characters in "24: Day 4"!

Just as the Christians got freaked-out over "Jerry Springer: The Opera", and the Sikhs got "Behzti" (a theatre show) pulled from a theatre in Birmingham, now it's the turn of another religion to claim that entertainment is portraying them in a negative light.

Sorry, but I can't believe all these right-wing religious nutters who keep whining about how the media is to blame for everything. It 's me rigid, and gets right up my nose!

If they (insert your chosen religious denomination here) want to stop themselves being shown in a bad light, maybe they need to take a good long hard look at themselves, their own countries, and the news that is broadcast from within their own regions, before blaming other countries for a negative or stereotyped portrayal! (Just take one look at a news broadcast on "Al-Jazeera", and you'll find lots of scenes of fundamentalists blowing themselves up, in the name of their chosen religion!)

Why can't these people find a better, more informed way of trying to portray themselves in a more positive light, rather than blaming TV for everything?!

She hasn't heard of it and therefore thinks I'll be wasting £50. She's normally okay with me buying dvd's but I've bought a lot recently, so much so that I've run out of shelf space

HI,

For those of you who want to talk about episodes of Day 4 that have been shown on Sky 1, whilst NOT wanting to ruin it for others (e.g. like the above poster Johnny Thunder), please use this thread... here!!

Please let's keep this thread for general discussion of the show, (and my thread mentioned above, for discussion of Day 4 only), but NOT for any spoilers! Some of us enjoy trying to keep the tension each week, without the show being ruined by those who have downloaded it from a P2P site, or who have relatives in the US who send you copies of episode fresh from US transmission.

Thanks, in advance.

Well Johnny I would be of the opinion that once it has been screened in the UK it's fair game. So don't beat yourself up about it. I referred to the same thing you did, in my first post, but included a spoiler warning just in case there are people out there who have not seen it yet.

Ho hum - roll on tonight!

A bit of trivia that's annoying me

Does anyone know who the new guy working in CTU is? He's fairly pudgy and didn't bring a laptop to the first meeting (Chloe had a go at him). I'm sure I recognise him from something else.
