Hello,

I am trying to remember the name of a movie that came out in the mid to late 80's (could be earlier, but I dont think so). It is basically a surfing story with the plot line of Romeo and Juliet.

It is basically about 3 Valley guys that go to the beach to surf. One is real good. they go to a party and he meets the bad guys sister and gets interested.

It ends with a tournament where the hero turns off the wave and lets the bad guy win.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is really obscure. The only actor in it was one kid that was kind of a dork in this and had other roles like that. I dont remember his name or any thing else he was in.

Its killing me. It was definitely the 80s.

From memory the male lead was alos a surf champ in real life rather than an actor. It was set in Hawai I think and the female lead was of native descent (as was the brother) hence the romeo and juliet angle.

Also there is a scene where the hero comes off his board and gets raked by coral and the female lead rubd aloa vera on his back to stop it from scarring.

I'll have a look and see if I can dredge up a title.
