Obviously the spare parts!

I watched this, with a high degree of optimism as i like Dave Spikey & Johnny Vegas, only to find one of the least funny 'comedy' programmes in years. What a major disappointment...

Christ, this made 'Mad About Alice' look like it was written by Mel Brooks, Peter Cook & Peter Kay!

Dave Spikey to be banned from Phoenix Nights 3 as punishment!

Also watched this last night and was also a bit disappointed, but will definitely reserve judgement until i have seen a few more as it does have the makings (i hope and imo) of being quite funny.

Worth sticking with, some funny moments, better than most ITV sitcoms

Cool

Although it was not a classic I had a fair few chuckles.

Does anyone know if it is repeated as I missed the beginning?

Well I loved it, had few silly moments but had more funnier ones

Im a big fan of Peter kay, but since seeing Dave Spikeys stand up DVD last year I prefer him more - the similarities between DMW and PN where there in spades

Dave Spikey certainly needs to have as much praise for his comedy talent as PK - maybe if he could be on "trendy" Ch4 or have some playground catchphrases he would be

I saw it too, not outstanding but has potential. Some gags in the background on posters and blackboards. In the Douglas Bader Arms there was a note on the blackboard about joining the Happy Hour and getting legless. Another said 'your dinner is in the Doug'. Also a newspaper headline framed in the pub but can't remember what that one said

I think it may have potential, we just need to get to know the characters a bit more hopefully.
According to Digiguide, it's repeated on ITV2 at 9PM on the 10th.

Oh dear me any hopes of this turning into a good series was wiped away tonight. I should have known ITV seem to have the kiss of doom with comedy series. I cant remember anything funny in sitcoms on there since the 70’s.

Exacly I too was only thinking the same last night, of that as the last best comedy sitcom ITV made, although I did enjoy The Gaffer.

Agreed, 'Rising Damp' was and still is (for the non PC people out there) an all time classic.

Did anyone see Johnn Vegas in 'Ideal' on BBC3 the other night?

Now, that looks as though it may have some potential...

Cool

If folk forget there was a series on ITV called Who Dares Wins which although not a sitcom was even funnier than Rising Damp.

Ops was this on Ch4

I'm still watching this. Although it's not side-splittingly funny, there's something about it that keeps me watching. I'd call it a gentle comedy to be polite

I think this is very good, vastly superior to Ideal anyway. Can't say the same about Dave Spikeys standup though, dreadful.

It's all right in a gentle humour kind of way - not exactly side-splittingly hilarious but more than watchable. There's nowt else on on a Wenesday night anyway...

Oh, and the best recent ITV sitcom was, of course, The New Stateman.

Well ITV, you won this battle, but I'll know better next time
I've had this on a series link and have been recording the whole series via Sky+ - ITV thought they'd got me last week when they changed the day of the final episode to Thursday when all the rest have been Wednesday. Fortunately I checked the series link and noticed it hadn't worked for last nights episode so I set up the recording again for 11pm last night.
I should have known better than expect a proper service from a crap station that specialises in morons doing idiotic things and garbage soaps. Dead Man Weds didn't start until about 10 minutes past 11 last night and they didn't update the EPG. This means that even with 5 minutes padding at the end the recording missed quite a bit of the final episode of the series I've been watching. I'd accuse ITV of deliberately doing this but I'm not sure they have the brain power to work out how to do it
That's the last time I ever watch anything on ITV - apart from football

For anyone else who was caught out by the incompetence of ITV, this last episode is on again on ITV2 Monday night at midnight.
I suggest setting a recording padding of 1 hour either side of the start and end time
