Well, I caught up with the latest episode last night and it was the most entertaining one yet, although its seeming that

Kingslanding won't need to worry as its foes will wipe each other out before they even get there
! Completely agree about Brohn's quote of the week, make that of the year

I think Bronn has had 2 classic deadpan lines in both series and he stole the show with both.

In the First Series it was "you wouldn't know him"

I think Bronn is a great character. Is he portrayed as being a pretty handy swordsman in the books as well?

Not sure about a handy swordsman, but an experienced and sly fighter who is not afraid to use dirty means to win fights.

Two awesome lines, but I think it's all in the delivery!

Most definitely, they could have just been throwaway lines, but somehow Jerome Flynn has managed to make them work for him.

Cool

My mate lent me some of the Bly Ray disc and watched the first 2 episodes of the first series. I found the quality was truly outstanding.
The story took a bit of getting into with the multitude of different characters, but Tyrion Lannister is emerging my favorite character.

Especially when he does this to that stinking pile of poo

Ahhh the Joffrey love finds new members.

The series maintains and tops the quality of those first two episodes.

I wonder if we'll see this again next week when Tyrion finds out what he did, hopefully he'll get 2 mistresses with strap ons and spit roast the little sit.

The more I see of Joffrey the more my dislike for him grows. If and when he gets what he deserves I hope it will last a full episode. Tyrion and Bron are stealing the show once again for me, he's playing a great game of chess with moves I dont see coming. Fantastic show and TV Gold.

I gather that was neds head in the box that was brought to his widow? Bit small for his body.

I think they were Neds bones.

I also think you will be satisfied in a couple of episodes time, if they stay true to the book. I will say no more for risk of spoiling

I had a look how many books there are and there's 5 and 2 more in the pipeline.

anyone know if a series is a book long?

Series 1 and 2 follow the first two books exactly. But I believe from series 3 they will start to disconnect, as the creators have said book 3 is to big to do justice to it in one series.

I suspect the producers might not like

the random killing off of characters that are a trade mark of the books and veer slightly away from that. There were quite a lot of people upset that Sean Bean didn't make
it to season 2.

I think the producers will stay very faithful to the books as they have been already, but just restructure them slightly. There is no way they could do a seperate series for book 4 and 5, they will have to be merged (as I feel the books should have been) to ensure all of the characters continue to feature on a regular basis.

Although, they are pulling some elements of the 3rd book into series 2. I am not sure what though.

Just watched the latest episode on Sky, love this series. I'm currently on the 3rd book and watching the second series helps a lot to understand the characters as i do get lost sometimes.

Apologies, I did think I had spoilered that post, I was posting from the iPhone andI am not sure how I managed to screw it up. I've replied to your pm and feel your infraction was perhaps an over reaction.

So, to clarify, posters should not mention anything that is going to happen and also anything that 'has' happened?? That'll make for a lively thread then. :-)

Time for two threads for the show? One with spoilers permitted, one with spoilers forbidden?

One reason spoiler permitted threads are not allowed is moderators have to read the posts, as they watch the shows or might, and do not want it spoilt.

Just spoiler-text any major/important incident that could ruin it for someone else.

Agree with the above, however, we have an odd thread here, other shows have season specific threads, this one is all GOT talk.

Even with season threads we are not allowed to use open spoilers...

We manege years quite nicely without having to give major plot lines away without not using spoiler tags.

An no to the sugestion a few years ago some one tryed that and Ian came down hard on it, we have spoiler tags use them, if you cant use them it better not to post spoilers.

Read the quote on Ian's comment in here http://www.avforums.com/forums/movie...etiquette.html

Honestly this spoiler policy is a bit daft. Everyone knows when the new episode airs (be it in the UK or US). So until you have seen the latest episode just don't come into the thread.

I want to discuss what happened in the latest episode, what I think will happen next and all that. Not to tip toe around some member who couldn't figure out when to come into a thread.

/end rant.

So what did you think of the last episode and what do you think will happen?
