Wiki says Asperger Syndrome is classified as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). And according to the American Psychiatric Association it proposes that the diagnosis of Asperger's be eliminated, to be replaced by a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder on a severity scale.

... Or am I missing the "joke"?
It kind of follows on from my comment about the writers being ambiguous (for no reason imho)
- comedies are often built on caricatures and grotesques, so personality disorders have no need to be explicitly stated, straight dramas however do not have the same luxury ... so the Daily Mash is just playing on the fact that the shows do not state the characters' conditions

Btw, as I mentioned before, Aspergers is on the autistic spectrum

It was excellent. They're going to start filming a second series at the end of the year apparently.

I'm about half way through and starting to lose interest. It's just your normal tv crime drama, nothing special and a bit daft at times.

It did kinda wilt a bit towards the end with its slightly silly Hollywood style twist reveals, but it had one major thing going for it and that was Saga, the autistic Swedish detective. Both the character and the actress were worth the watch alone. I look forward to the follow up and hope it's centred more on her.

Hi,

Well, whatever you think of it, the show's done incredibly well for BBC4. Between the repeats, and the showings on BBC HD, it's averaging 1.2 million viewers a week. Almost double that of FORBRYDELSEN and WALLANDER!

Season 2 will start filming in October 2012, ready for transmission roughly 9-12 months later! So don't go expecting to see it anytime soon on BBC4.

Went downhill soon but the characters were great, the pilot was really the best thing about the show but not a patch on The Killing which was superior in every way.

Great ending but, as you said Mark, the Hollywood style reveals were a bit silly -- i.e. the

motives and activity of the actual killer was very much Hollywood blockbuster villain of the Die Hard variety; and the plastic surgery transformation of Jens, which was worthy of something like an 80s US TV soap (Stephen Carrington in Dynasty) - nothing like that can ever be achieved in reality, anyone who has major facial modification/reconstruction/plastic/cosmetic surgery just looks like they've had surgery - artificial looking rather than the very natural looking new Jens or youthfulness/beauty (the vain delusions of of those who go for facial cosmetic surgery)

Series 2 is set to air late 2013, so we may get it then or 2014.

Saga and Martin's relationship reminded me of Seven Of Nine and the Doctor in Star Trek: Voyager.

Not sure if already posted? - Canal+ and Sky Atlantic and Kudos Film and TV, working on a remake of Bron/Broen (The Bridge)

The new version will reportedly transpose the scene of the crime to the point at which France meets Britain in the Channel Tunnel.

Highly unlikely...

...It's more likely to be called "gigantic pile of toss".

It will be interesting to see if it follows the original pattern of mostly being in one language (Swedish) or try more for a fifty-fifty. I guess if they're going after international markets it will be predominantly English, with an Inspector Clouseau type speaking English wizz ze French accent.

Absolute heresy, m'lud, heresy I say! (NURSE JACKIE is not a gigantic pile of toss. It's a very good, and darkly comedic show, in my view.)

Now, if you'd have said THE X-FACTOR or BUTT MUNCH, then I may have agreed with you.

Hear hear.
One of the funniest shows from the US and I'm looking forward to its return.

Agreed. A wee bit quirky and out of the ordinary.
I liked the "George Galloway" Danish detective's laugh.
I'm really missing my Scandinavian drama on a Saturday night now...haste ye back.

I particularly liked the way the drip fed the characters into the show and how it all linked in.

Was expecting an anti climax for the last couple of episodes as it all unraveled but thought the writers did a good job of keepih it going!

Josh Groban's current album, All That Echoes, released last month has a cover of Hollow Talk
(originally by Danish group Choir of Young Believers from 2008 and theme song of The Bridge)

Groban

Choir of Young Believers performing it live at a Seattle radio station in 2010

I am not a Groban fan btw
