Cool

I like them both but prefer Miami as they tend to have just one story line and I think Horatio is a better character than Grison although he isn’t a bad character either.
They are both far better than any UK crime program at present.

They are all excellent, CSI:NY hasn't started on Five yet so can only comment on the pilot which was good enough.

I like the original, but also prefer the totty in Miami.

I also can't take much more of Horatio and his damn sunglasses!

There hasn't been a good Brit cop show since the 70's

HI,

With the exception of the "Law And Order" series', and the spin-off's, "CSI" is just simply awesome! You should see the show, if you like good quality, intelligent, and sophisticated crime dramas.

Pooch

P.S. Where have you been for the past four years, since it first aired on Five?!

Csi is awesome. I haven't seen any of csi:NY so can't comment on that. CSI Miami is spoilt by the presence of Emily Proctor and David Caruso who is too busy trying to be cool to do any acting.

recently seen the pilot for NY, it has a "gritty feel" about it which suits its location perfectly.

miami would be good if the writers wrote into each indoor scene: *horatio caine takes off his sunglasses as he enters the room*

It's fine as a distraction if there is nothing else on but I wouldn't buy the DVDs. I prefer Law and Order, I like the legal stuff.

I think most of 'em are pretty good, but if I had to chose an order for the characters then -

CSI - Grissom is the original and I think the best.
Law & Order - Briscoe is superb, his one liners are fantastic, I also think McCoy is pretty cool too.
CSI Miami - Horatio's dogged determination is fantastic.

All good viewing though.

It was reported they almost did a CSI UK instead of NY, which I would like to have seen if they used a American team to film it as most thing on the UK have got that plodding feel to them these days.

Pooch, i gave up watching most TV a while back (got fed up with ads, sky, cuts, and re schedules) hense i only really watch dramas on DVD these days (Just watched all 23 episodes of Murder One in two days - wow) . I've had my eye on CSI for a while now but i felt the DVD's were over priced. so when i found them in a sale last week i got very excited and bought the first two seasons. I'm up to about episode 7 or 8 (Season 1) now and have to say i'm loving it. i have a few niggles with it but i'm reserving final judgement on it until i've seen all of the two seasons. My daughter tells me that some changes take place for Season 2. I'm also very please to see its in Vegas, i've watched so many things lately set in LA i feel i could drive round it blindfold

Gary,

"Murder One" (Season 1) is stonking! Glad you enjoyed. It's just a shame that you can't watch it over-and-over again, because the "twist" will be well-known to you, if you've already seen it.

As for the "CSI" series, it's one of my fave shows, and I'd say there's almost never a bad episode. In Season 1, look out for an episode which I think is called "Unfriendly Skies". Also check out "Sounds of Silence" later on in Season 1, which is a real emotional episode. Both are truly awesome CSI episodes, but in different ways.

With Season 2, there are several class episodes, but look out for "Slaves Of Las Vegas" (which is actually part 1 of a two-parter, which doesn't get concluded until Season 3's "Lady Heather's Box"!), and "The Finger". Again, both are superb, albeit for very different reasons!

This is one of the few dramas, that is consistently entertaining, innovative, and intelligently written.

I hope you continue to enjoy it!

Oh, and what about the following new ideas?

"CSI: Cornwall" ("There's been a murder...! Anyone up for a pint, then?")
"CSI: Montreal" (all the investigation, is done by the horses! )
"CSI: Khazakstan"
"CSI: Kabul"
"CSI: Chernobyl"

Pooch
