True Blood (Season 5) US

The fifth season of True Blood begins shooting next month in Louisiana. Two pieces of news have surfaced:

- One of the subplots - will focus on "Nora", Eric's vampire "sister" born of Godric. While she loves Eric, she's also

a double agent working for the Vampire
Authority.

- The new season will circle around "Salome" (The 'Salome' from "The Bible") The daughter of Herodias and an icon of dangerous female seductiveness.
Quote:
Christian traditions depict her as an icon of dangerous female seductiveness, for instance depicting as erotic her dance mentioned in the New Testament (in some later transformations further iconised to the dance of the seven veils), or concentrate on her lighthearted and cold foolishness that, according to the gospels, led to John the Baptist’s death.
Though it seem's there is a difference, as Salome casting is described, as a powerful ancient vampire, world-class seductress who’s also a little crazy.

Another reason to keep watching, as british actress Lucy Griffiths, best known as Maid Marian (pic) on the first two series of the BBC drama Robin Hood, has landed her first American series, cast as Nora, the centuries-old vampire “sister” of Eric.

First look at Lucy Griffiths, she and Eric share the same maker, "Godric,' which makes her Eric's sister. Nora is a

double agent
within the Vampire Authority.

Christopher Heyerdahl (Sanctuary) is doing the voiceover in this clip. Heyerdahl will play Dieter Braun, an Authority interrogator.

The woman who is kissing Eric in the clip tease appears to be Salome, daughter of Herodias. Valentina Cervi has been cast to portray her. Salome is a powerful, extremely intelligent ancient vampire and a world-class seductress who is also quite mad.

Bring back Godric.

Dam I wish they handn't got rid of him.

I actually felt the flashbacks with Eric and him were some of the best of the show.

I'm really hanging on to this series because I loved it so much , but its' all over the place in terms of consistent quality.

That said, I bet I'll be on this like flies on **** .

Just saw this thread and your post, and I couldn't agree more. Godric was the only decent character in it, and he got binned!

I won't be bothering with Season 5 myself - unless I hear it is an absolute powerhouse. After a terrific 1st season, 2,3 and 4 have been some of the worst television I've ever seen. Nothing but a drawn out soap opera that could have been squeezed into 4 or 5 episodes. A great shame in my opinion.

I'm a massive fan of the books and the series and I'm really looking forward to this.

I also liked Godric as a character but he's a bit different in the books and you aren't really sure what to think of him. I used to think Eric was awesome right up until the last season. I mean, I know what happened but it just didn't seem like Season 1 and 2 Eric. He was too tame. Having said that, the last season was quite awesome but I prefered the season before with Russell Edgington.

In fairness that trailer looks better than the trailers have for the last few seasons. I still think I will be sticking by my guns tho and waiting for a report on the entire thing first.

Episode 2: Authority Always Wins

Awesome episode.

Christopher Meloni was great in this as Authority head, Bill was practically begging for his life, well he had to.

Tara was scary in this. And Pam told (comanded) her to stay in the house, but no.

Why did the prisoners not hide under the beds (a little protection) when the UV light was on.
