Dexter's Laboratory

I like Dexter's Laboratory. It amuses the hell out of me. The other day by a bizarre quirk of fate, I saw for the second time, the following episode, that defies easy description. It's titled "A Mandark Cartoon" and naturally centres around Mandark.

Now for those familiar with the aforementioned character, you'll be aware of his quirky laugh, which follows a specific rhythm. The entire cartoon then follows this idiom. The alarm clock goes off to the same meter. Mandark yawns, cleans his teeth, etc all to the same pattern of his laugh. I particualarly found his piano practise rather droll.

Now I'm sure there are some who may think, what the fack is this mentalist prattling on about now. But I'm sure there are others out there who delight in all manifestations of the animated art form, and like me think that this episode demostrates that comic genius is not dead.

Dexter's Lab has always been a very creative show. No coincidence that it had the same creators as Samurai Jack. (if you like one, you should check out the other)

Anyone who has ever played Dungeons and Dragons should see the D&D episode on Dexter's Lab. Great stuff. I'm also a big fan of the Justice Friends comic spoof.

Powerpuff Girls is very good too (again the same creators).

Anyone know where I can get the "Mandark laugh" as wave file.

Tried a few searches but nothing seems available.

Interesting note: Eddie Deezen, who does the voice of Mandark, also voiced Iggy Catalpa in the Duckman TV series. It's been a while, but I think the voices are pretty much the same.

Dexter's Laboratory ROCKS!
I still haven't worked out why he is the only one in his family with a French accent though.....and strangely enough, in the episode where he met himself at several different ages, none of his other incarnations had an accent either.

This stuff is FAR too good for kids...
