i like the professional reviews on allmovieguide, even those i don't agree 100%
make interesting reading, much better than the 'this is crap' or 'this is good'
imdb reviews.

I must say though, that imdb is FAR more useful in judging the quality of a film. Both in terms of average scores and user comments.

The IMDB site is very useful if you wanna find out a cast member of a certain film or see which films are currently in production or see a full filmography of a certain person ( they cover z grade actors down to the A list ones ) great site.

My biggest gripe with IMDB is the actor photos. Every single time I go there to find out what an actor looks like (to jog my memory), there's no photo available.

Often its down to the individual themselves to submit a photo for use : unless they are very well known.

I 've got numerous entries myself ( about 20 I seem to recall) but no photograph as I'm crew : none of my entries were submitted by me. Some were by the company I work for without any say from me and some are a bit more mysterious ; probably the production company for the films.

It is only a website at the end of the day and its really geared at fans although it has some pretensions towards beign recognised as an industry resource its not really supported well enough.

Its useful for finding coarse information about mainstream films though.

The electric intern isn't actually me!
This is a good example of why the imdb isn't a recognised industry resource yet !
They've mashed me and a couple of other people together.

I'm just the VFX credits and its missing quite a few other films I'm credited on.
I tried to get credited as Rev. on the film I'm currently finishing up but they didn't go for it.

Yeah I know it's not you. I could never imagine you as a "best boy, electric" either haha. Doing a search on your name comes up with AKA's that are obviously not you. So do you think I could try and submit myself somehow for films I like. That would be a laugh!

Well I know a few people who've submitted films that they are uncredited for and also upped their roles on the films: roto artists putting themselves down as compositors for example.
