I think both of these gals are most gorgeous things that ever lived

Mind you Rita Hayworth runs them close.

OK, did a search and I'll say yes not too shameful, but they didn't get the old fire going in the loins... But you wouldn't be ashaming yourself if you ended up with either of them while they were in their prime!

Oh yes indeedy

Vintage film stars have infinitely more glamour and sheer class than the crass mob of today.

Cool

Without doubt Gene Tierney, who could blame Dana Andrews falling in love with her, just from her portrait even though he is investigating her murder in Laura. Which just happens to be one of my favorite films.

PS no Spoilers as this is at the very beginning of the film.

Mind you Gorshin I use to like Jeanne Crain (see her in The Joker is Wild), Rhoda Fleming as well as Rita Hayworth.

How wound up was I (and no doubt everyone) when Fox cancelled their special Edition of Laura???? It MUST be released... PLEASE

Anyway, I havn't seen 'Laura' yet. Is it as good as, say, 'The Third Man' for example? Have you seen 'The Ghost and Mrs Muir'? I've got that on dvd, starring Tierney

Cool

It depends on your taste; I prefer it to The Third Man but just my taste. Some of the characters are a bit quirky, the theme tune is great.

Here is a summery of it from IMDB

Detective Mark McPherson investigates the killing of Laura, found dead on her apartment floor before the movie starts. McPherson builds a mental picture of the dead girl from the suspects whom he interviews. He is helped by the striking painting of the late lamented Laura hanging on her apartment wall. But who would have wanted to kill a girl with whom every man she met seemed to fall in love? To make matters worse, McPherson finds himself falling under her spell too. Then one night, halfway through his investigations, something seriously bizarre happens to make him re-think the whole case.

I cannot remember seeing 'The Ghost and Mrs Muir' only the TV series, but I think I know the plot.

The pictures you probably say shows there beauty not sexnes and even what I have seen not are as good as seeing them on the screen. Just saw a bit of some film on TV with J Lo and to say she is suppose to be one of the worlds most beautiful women in the world I find her nothing special.
I also find the Bond women better at the beginning of the series than those at the end. Although Caroline and particularly Famke rocks my boat.

"Laura" is one of the great movies. The R1 Fox release has been delayed as they have decided to include it in a Film Noir collection to be released later in the year.

The R1 July release of "Double Indemnity" has been pulled as someone at Universal woke up to the fact that it was a classic (Duh!) and warranted the Special Edition treatment. Hopefully this means we get to see the deleted gas chamber sequence at last.
