Northwest Frontier

Classic Brit Empire action/stiff upper lip movie, was shown on Beeb 2 today. Lousy print, lots of grain, washed out colours shown at 16:9.

I then went round to my Mother house to set up here newly acquired Sony NS330 DVD, and guess what she handed me as a test disc? Northwest Frontier on the Carlton label. It was marked 4:3 LB, but when played was an anamorphic 2:35:1 copy. Nice print, with solid colours and little or no print damage. What a pleasant surprise.

Unfortunately, the player wasn't multi region. The guys in the shop allegedly used a hack possible via a universal remote but it didn't take

Anyway, back to the film, this can be picked up for between £7-10
