BBc 1 D-Day Docu-drama 8(?)-10pm tonight
Just want to say that the BBC really pulled it out of the bag tonight. A superb docu-drama about the British involvement in D-Day using acrchival footage shot on the day, the real life experiences of veterans combined with recreated battle scenes. A brilliant piece of TV.
Does anyone know if it will be released on dvd? I enjoyed it as much as Band Of Brothers! It even drew me away from Big Brother!
The immensity of the D-Day operations are only just beginning to sink in on me: 40 000 total dead on all sides during D-Day alone. A sobering thought. The sight of the veterans in Normandy today left the eyes fairly wet I might add. Many of those heroes were also in tears too.
