Shrek 2 - cut

Just spotted this at the bbfc:

Quote:
During post-production, the distributor sought and was given advice on how to secure a U classification. As a result of this advice, sight of a headbutt by Princess Fiona was removed prior to submission. The submitted work was passed U without cuts.
Strange that the 1st films had headbutts intact.

Shame that but i guess i would be buying the region 1 DVD anyways but still a shame UK consumers get a censored version.

Shrek 2 - voice changes

I've just read this article about the re-dubbing of some minor characters in Shrek 2 and I think it's ludicrous. Looks like I'll be waiting for the R1 DVD. What do you think?

I expect if people like you accept these sorts of things and show such a lame attitude towards censorship then things like this will never change.

I'll buy region 1 because its out first and because its uncut as a collector i take the uncut status of films i collect seriously, keep your silly insults to yourself.

I buy all my movies from North America whenever possible anyway.

If they do the same as part 1 then i'll buy region 1 for £10 and sell the full screen disc for £5 and keep the widescreen dts version. I'll let the noobs pay £15 - £25 for the inferior R2 version.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard all week. (keep in mind how much dumb stuff goes on these days)

I hope the R2 version sales are in the single digits.

A similar thing was done in Toy Story 2

When Buzz gives his morale boosting speech, the American version has the stars and stripes flag and the national anthem playing in the background. On all the other releases it has a generic flag and anthem playing.

It would seem that one of Gorshin's favorite pastimes is calling people 'noobs' on as many threads as possible.

This fantastic insight into movies is taken from the DVD Talk forum

Quote:
Just noted a few of you noobs don't have some all time classics: Citizen Kane, Rear Window (or any Hitchcock), Chinatown, Psycho or The Third Man (best British film of all time).
Oh dear, oh dear.

Watched Shrek 2 in New York last Sunday and it was hilarious. The headbutt scene is no worse than comic violence used in the rest of the film. I don't think it will ruin the film though so I'll buy whichever dvd is cheapest (probably r1 anyway).

If you're after PAL rather than NTSC, buy the Australian R4 as they're usually uncut...

From the trailer this looks ay-bysmal. Film making by committee or what!!!! Just trying to be too cute for its own good. The first was hardly a classic either take away the graphics and you have nothing
