BBC2 are showing this on Bank holiday monday, and for my money, looks worth checking out - especially with that cast.

Half way through The Gates Of Rome which is about Julius Caesar so I will have to watch this film.

Was this any good? Anyone know if a DVD release is planned? Was it a BBC production?

Looks like it was produced by a group of German companies (from the titles). Only half watched it whilst at my parents. Looked not bad - but not as good as I Claudius.
