The Handler - Oh dear...

Okay, so as an alternative to I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, I figured the new, much heralded "The Handler" would be a more worthy view.

How wrong I was.

A truly, truly, appalling Point Break/Fast & the Furious plot interweaved with another “you burned my agent, now I’m gonna get you Mr Corrupt Judge who likes beating young prostitutes and taking bribes etc”

The undercover, Lenny Kravitz wannabe wouldn’t have convinced my 2 year old “Hey man it’d be easier if you’d just tell me which bank your going to take down”!!

As for the main bad guy using a book on the I-Ching to decide which bank job to pull….. It's almost so bad it's good (almost). Joe Pantoliano, shame on you!

As a result, I reckon I'll be glued to Jordan’s pups next week, for some BAFTA winning reality TV rather than waste another hour of my life on this!

I love Joe Pantoliano, he's a great actor. Is it that bad?

I'm afraid so Keanyboy!

I had high hopes myself and I also rate Joe highly as an actor. I've tried, but can't really find any redeeming qualities for this show.... I'd rather a more gritty, realistic cop drama like TJ Hooker (perhaps, I'm being a little too harsh now!)

You aint wrong!!

Shatners Hair Unit represented the pinnacle of animatronics

These days, they'd CGI it and it just wouldn't be the same....

Steve, I liked the first episode more than last night's, which was exactly like Point Break.

The first one was a bit darker and more serious. I'd give it another try, hopefully it'll be third-time-lucky!

I may try again then next week. Perhaps it was just a bad episode.

Can you explain why the bad guys were using the book on I-Ching to pick their robberies:

"Hey Dude what does the I-Ching say?"
"It says....let's rob this armoured car man!! Let's lock and load!!"

It was really, really BAD!!

Actually the armoured van job was a (clever) surprise. The gang suspected they might be being watched, which is why they switched cars and hit a specific target this time (the armoured van).

Previously they used the silly I-Ching "method", but went "pro" on the last job. Almost got away with it too.

I agree.

The first one was better and this weeks was without doubt Point Break, even some of the dialogue was ripped off.

Still look on the bright side, at least it finished before someone had the chance to jump out of a plane with no parachute only to let the crook go surfin' at the end.

I'll give it another couple of goes as it does have promise.

Almost....If it wasn't for masterful way Detective "Kravitz" busted the bad guys.....by driving the car they were all in into a wall!! What clever writing

Actually, the more I talk about this, the more I will watch it next week - it's funnier than watching Peter Andre trying to get to grips with Jordan's pups.

What should he have done? He was about to get shot in the temple: disarm the shooter with a quick wrist-twist ala Steven Segal in a dodgy ethnic coat? Or maybe do a Jackie Chan scene, rolling over the headrest and banging the two guys in the rear head's together, painfully crack his knuckles on the armrest, then using some stilts to leap from the speeding car and escape?

I thought it was good, and I'd sooner watch my TV switched off than any of that celebrity rubbish.

With all the good stuff coming out of the US: West Wing, Sopranos, The Shield, 24 etc etc, I guess my expectations were too high.

It just seemed a bit too "by the numbers" for me.

the first season was cut short in US

It is extremely unlikely a second season will appear

I gave it a go but my interest is now almost gone, what a waste of a good idea.
