Why is CatWeazle not reapeated, or remade like Stig of the Dump or similar (Dr Who again). My memory is hazzy of it now, but I enjoyed it (I was under 8 I think).

maybe because in the 80`s there was a nonse/sex pest/ who the press /media named catweasle. could be this i could also be i`m reading to many true crime books.

I hope your wrong, It could be the case, no-one listens to Gary Glitter anymore (although he was the auther of his own destruction) I thought for people of Catweazles' (or Catweasle?) era, anyone who was unkempt or dirty was nicknamed such. It might be pants, but I'd like to see it again to find out.

It was repeated but it may have been the repeats you saw for the first time.

It was one of my favourites and thought the first series better than the second. Like the site jmack posted I to though he would have made a good Dr Who.

There was a wrestle called Catweazel in the days of Mick McManus, Bert Royal etc when it was shown on TV on a Saturday afternoon and he dod some what resemble his name sake, and was one of the good guys, and very funny. He use to come on in costume like those old swim suit from head to knees

Cheers jmac, just goes to show I'm not on my own in this sad lonely world! Top site, & if it wasn't repeats I was pre-school so no wonder it's hazzy.
My nan used to like watching Saturday afternoon wrestling, so I remember the wrestler as well! (just). Who says Tv's rubbish!

Catweazle is due a DVD release this year (it was also due a DVD release in '02 and '03). Here's hoping.

Lucky I'm a patient sort of chap.

Catweasel was the nutz!!!!

Didn't even remember it till it was mentioned!

Although not overly related to the parent site. It would be quite fun to have a retro TV section.

This Catweasel thread has just bumped a few memories!!! We been talking alot in work about the originals; Transformers, Thundercats etc.

One of the reasons Peter Kay stand up is so funny, if your the right age, he's talking about your life!!!!

Well that is all well and good, I'm still waiting for a DVD release of Noggin the Nog, and my wife is waiting for a release of the French Robinson Crusoe TV series. Both of these keep being put forward for a release and then disappear. Any of you old-folk with information about these?

I use to love the program Noggin the Nog even todat when I here the music played (on the crumhorn) is sends shivers down my spine, for its time it was a dark series.
They also released the original music to the French Robinson Crusoe TV series on a CD called The Man From UNCLE Cult TV Classics.

Will have a look round this after noon for the news on the DVD’s

I can't find any mention of Noggin as of yet. However, Ivor the Engine - another Smallfilms production - is on the way. I would imagine Noggin is on the cards over the next couple of years.

The full score of the series is/was available as a standalone cd. I rented it one time from our local audio/video library.

Robinson Crusoe dvd's are often available on ebay.They are simply dubbed from the vhs release long since deleted,but on 3 discs the series is still one to enjoy.Its usually about £20
