I don't have sky as i didnt like the annoying way every single program including films had announcers talking over the end titles, it truly bugged me.

Do they show films in their proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio (( if shot that way )) or do they zoom in and show as 1.78:1 (( 16/9 ))

Anyone got a dvd release date for series 3 and can anyone please tell me or send me a link to somewhere which tells me how i can tell if i got the shortened american discs for series 1, is there anyway of knowing from just looking at the discs or does someone have proper running times ?

I'm sure that the trailers for 24 on Sky 1 have NOT been in the proper aspect ratio (I'm assuming they should be 1.78:1!)

Hope the actual transmission of the show is in "widescreen".

Having enjoyed BBC2's excellent showing of the first two, i'm opting to avoid the advert/logo ridden sky version of series 3. I'll wait for the DVD this time.

The region 2 UK version of the original 24 was apparently released on dvd and was the american broadcast version, from what i understand discs were recalled and replaced with the additional footage version ((there is an extra 90 seconds of footage on discs 5 and 6)) how do i tell which version i have ?

All sky films are now shown in their proper aspect ratio ?
are u sure of this, are films shot 2.35:1 shown without the zooming in which u find happens on terrestrial broadcasts of scope films.

What I heard was that the episodes of the original UK DVD release were actually in the wrong order, they didn't flow properly, and they recalled them all or something because of it...that's what I heard anyway.

Yea I'm 99% sure they show them in the proper aspect ratio...but don't hold me to that

All reigon 2 is in the correct order, however the early boxsets of r2 had the edited versions of episodes on discs 5&6, theses were originally swapped by fox, but all newer box sets are fine, to check I will quote PJ on a similar thread a while back.

the corrected 5+6 discs have a (iirc) v2 after the cat no. on the actual discs iirc its somewhere around the hole! this is only on discs 5+6 the rest dont have v2 on them

All of Sky's new US dramas etc have been shown in Widescreen this year.

Enterprise looks excellent.

Don't see why 24 won't be in W/S.

Yes there will be adbreaks but ce la vie!
