why are we so far behind the US?

this is the start of season 9 whereas they are well into season 11

i thought all the 9/11 references were slightly odd

did you notice how the new detective was zack from saved by the bell

Due to Channel 4's excellent positioning of this programme I missed the first episode.

Does anyone know if it going to be repeated soon, or has a VHS copy they can lend me.

Thanks
Greg

Hi Greg,

Alas, no C4 or E4 repeats. In fact, after this season is shown, it's doubtful whether C4 will even bother to continue airing the show at all in the UK, the swines!!!

Oh, and this weeks episode, gets shunted to 00:10! Watch as C4 start moving it later and later into the late-night schedules!

Is this info from C4 themselves?

Hi Again,

Nope, C4 haven't actually said anything, but the general concensus among the remaining "NYPD Blue" fans in the UK, is that C4 seem to be doing everything in their power to get rid of the show, just like they've done to numerous other excellent US dramas. (e.g. "Oz", "The West Wing", "Third Watch", "Angel", "Alias", "Futurama", "Without A Trace", "Homicide: Life On The Street", etc, etc, etc.)

I've got a screen capture of a Channel 4 staff member promising viewers that "Third Watch" Season 3 would be airing soon, and that was over 20 months ago now!!!!

They promise a lot, but don't deliver, and would rather ram countless hours of crap like "Shattered", "Big Brother", "Boss Swap", and its ilk, down our throats. If it wasn't so laughable, I'd prosecute C4 under the Trade Descriptions Act, because their schedulers are anything but!

Yep, its a sad state of affairs. It actually makes you weep for those of us who still like to have our brain cells switched on in front of the tv.

Hi,

The show is still as good as ever! First episode was a corker!

And we have a new character too! Maybe Mark-Paul Gosselar can act, after all?! (He used to play Zack in "Saved By The Bell", in case anyone doesn't know who I mean.)

Thanks for ruining the first episode Pooch.

I was waiting to get a copy of the first episode as I missed it on C4 and you have now totally spoiled it.

I would appreciate it if you could spoiler out the relevant bits of your post so other people who have yet to see this first episode of the new series are not spoiled aswell.

Greg

The show isn't as good as it used to be and needs some decent storylines.

HI Greg,

Sincere apologies, mate! However, I was under the impression that we were allowed to post minor spoilers, providing that the episode/show in question had actually already aired before the time you post it on the website.

If that's not the case, then, please forgive me. I have, however, edited the relevant parts out of my original post.

Will be more careful in future.

Cool

I rather even when it’s shown on terrestrial you do not put plot twist as mentioned in the sticky, without very good warning or using the spoiler button.

Thanks for the self editing the post Pooch.

Cheers

Hi,

Garrett - no problems. Have read your PM, and will be more careful in future, and use the "Spoiler" function to hide any potential spoiler elements.

Greg - I envy you still having the first two episodes to watch of this series! It's truly amazing, even to this day, some nine years after the show started here in the UK!

Some people say it's not as good as it used to be, but it's still bloody ace, regardless. Episode 1 is a cracking start, and still poignant with all the 9-11 references, and Episode 2 has one of the best pre-credit sequences in recent times! Let me just say that you should, if at all possible, try to watch both episodes back-to-back! You'll know why when you see the beginning of Part 2.

Oh, and don't forget Episode 3 is on Thursday of this week, at 12:10am! However, Episode 4 (airing on 12th Feb), will be moved to a later time slot of 12:15am! Bloody Channel 4!!

Pooch

P.S. Anyone else notice the "The Shield" in-joke, in episode 2?! Once people have seen the episode in question, I'll explain it, in case you miss it. Failing that, PM me!
