Cool 14 Million On A New Dr Who

I was reading that the BBC are spending 14 million on a new Dr Who series of 12 episodes.

Pall McGann is to reprieve his role if only for the regeneration. They have not found a new Doctor yet but the assistant is suppose to be sexy and will have the production values of Buffy.

The villains of the story are the Daleks and the Cybermen.

They could have given me £13,999,999, commisioned a new series with the change & it would have been just as well made as the original, & probably equaly entertaining! I don't want to pay my TV license anymore!

Only person I can think of at the moment who could be a good doctor is Richard E Grant, he recently did the voice for the Doctor on the BBC Website Doctor Who story and I thought he was very good.

Bah!

Better (but expensive) possibilities would be Ian Holm, Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Alan Rickman or Michael Gambon. Slightly cheaper possibilities would be Anton Lesser or Robert Hardy.

I wish Nicola Bryant were called something else, for reasons which you may be able to deduce from studying my username.

They found a lost Episode last week, from the 60's. Handed back to them by a crew member. They chucked them out to make space can you believe

Dr Who sux! Spend the 14 million quid on something useful, like a pilot of HDTV.

Cool

The originals were good in there day for a BBC production up to some of the latter Tom Baker when the stories started to go for style over substance and there were some good stories of the others but not to the same extent.
Dr Who was more a teatime program where as Blake Seven later on in the evening.
