We were soldiers - Alternative title?

Hi Guys,
This is something that has been buggin me for a while. I saw this at the cinema in Glasgow while there on a weekend trip with her indoors (I know I'm such a romantic!).

I'm sure the film was called 'Once were soldiers'. Am I right or am I just going mad?

Please Help!

Dipman

The Mel Gibson movie, We Were Soldiers, was based on the book "We Were Soldiers Once....And Young".

I think there was a movie called "Once Were Warriors" , about New Zealand Maoris?

Maybe your brain is confusing all of these ideas.

I am sure the all-knowing brain-mass that is the AV Forums membership will either confirm or refute these assertions...

Thanks for the replies, I'm sure the poster for the film in the foyer called the film Once were soldiers, that was before I'd even heard of the book. Seems like I may have been in an alternate reallity that night!!

Spot on, my brain stills mentions one when it means the other.

We Were Soldiers = Mel Gibson, very good vietnam film
Once Were Warriors = Utterly superb, bleak NZ drama
