Whats happend to Bones?

Anyone watching Bones at the moment on Sky One? Somethings not quite right, only way I can describe it is that it looks cheap! Kind of like how the Bill and Casualty have gone, don't know if its a filming style or equipment change issue but I don't like it

Re: Whats happend to Bones?

I watched it in HD myself and picture quality was fine but the camera work looked 'off' seemed like it was shot on a camcorder, i don't mean quailty of image more quality of shooting.

Watched it last night - it certainly hasn't yet fallen prey to the wobbly-cam nonsense, so I'm not sure what you're getting at. I imagine like most US shows it's being filmed with high-def video equipment, not 35mm film cameras as they used to be.

Regards

Mark

Not sure if this affects the look of the show you're describing, but I get the feeling the show is going more camp. I'm sure I'm describing that wrong too, but the suburbia episode the other week would sum it up best. In general, this season is missing the mark for me, as did the latter half of last season.

Re: Whats happend to Bones?

the show has become a straight comedy really, they don't hunt down murderers anymore, infact i can't remember the last time the killer wasn't indentified during an interview rather than being caught in the field. That's not to say it isn't good though, the replacement interns are great

There definatly something not right with it compared to previous episodes. According to a thread i've found on Digital Spy about Casualty they seem to have 'Filmized' it.

Granted its not as bad as Casualty or The Bill but several parts of last nights Bones seemed to me like they were shot in the same way that sometimes bits are shot when you get a show filming a show within a show if anyone knows what I mean.

Re: Whats happend to Bones?

Seems I may have found the problem! Just turned the TV on and realised it was on Ext1 rather than HDMI1... rewatched the first 5 mins of Bones on both and the difference is quite startling, seems the 'cheap' look was caused by playing a HD channel back through Scart, don't know if its the TV's upscalling or just the colour settings for Ext1!
