Roland Emmerich's '2013' tv series

Roland Emmerich and 2012 executive producer Howard Gordon are in discussions with ABC network in developing a tv series sequel to his big event disaster movie "2012". Currently known as "2013", set a year after the events off the movie, following survivors as they come to terms with the ravaged, broken world they now occupy and how they build their lives and who sets the rules..

Isn't that similar to the upcoming (if it appears) NBC's "Day One", which was trimmed from a 13 episode series to a 4hr mini-series.

The show is no longer to happen as it's "too big for TV"

Yes i read that, far too expensive, surprised they never figured that before they thought about putting a series on tv. There is a chance if costs can be lowered.

"It was just too big for TV, what we wanted to do," Emmerich said.

The project, titled '2013', now rests in the hands of 'Grey's Anatomy' producer Mark Gordon. Emmerich says Gordon is trying to lower the show's price tag in order to get it on the air. But the director seems convinced that the project is dead in the water.

"I don't think it will happen," he admitted. "I had a certain vision. We realized what kind of compromises we were going to have to make. Because of that, I said, "No thank you.'"

Read the 2012 bluray thread and you'll get the gist.

He has an issue with this film.

I'm assuming you're not aware of his feelings for the film?
