Channel 4 3D week starts 16th Nov

As the title states....they will be using the Colorcode 3D anaglyph method...not as good as 3D with polarized or shutter glasses but still might be fun if you can put up with brightness and color distortions followed by the inevitable eyestrain. Hat's off to Channel 4 for at least making an effort though.

Here are some listings.....

Channel 4 - TV Listings - Monday 16th of November 2009

16th Nov

21:00 The Queen in 3D

22:00 Derren Brown in 3D

I'm not a fan of the Queen or magic but I'll be suckered in to watch both in 3D

Channel 4 - TV Listings - Tuesday 17th of November 2009

17th Nov

21:00 The Queen in 3D

00:40 Flesh For Frankenstein 3D

Even though it's an "el weirdo" film, I'm looking forward to seeing the Udo Kier freakshow in 3D. I'm sure the transfer will at least be a better quality than the 3D bootleg version that's available on the net.

No Listings for Wed or Thursday but it's the Queen in 3D again on Friday followed by Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D.

Re: Channel 4 3D week starts 16th Nov

This 3D rubbish seems to come around time and time again. I guess that with the latest Hollywood push for 3D in the quest to maintain profits, they think it's time to give it another go.

I'm all for 3D but only when they can produce a decent sized, fully realistic 'hologram' style image in free space, not some half baked system that involves wearing glasses whether they be coloured, polarised, LCD shutter or whatever and using a normal screen.

You can go to colorcode website for some sample 3d footage, but it can only be viewed with the sainsburys ones.

Re: Channel 4 3D week starts 16th Nov

i've got some colorcode specs from an old "encounter in the 3rd dimension" imax dvd. They are the best glasses out of all of them, you see things in more or less the correct colours, just a bit darker and with a slight yellowish tint, but the main colours of the source do still get to your eyes!

oh and the 33rd image on the 3d slideshow on the colorcode site is great

Yeah, and they should be near the tills, not at the entrance where kids pinch bagfuls (really!!!) and sell them on for some tasty profit. That explains why they don't have any left
Also they seem to be stuck together, i asked a freind to bring some and there were two that werent pulled off, just peforated lol

You can make your own from Boxes and quality street wrappers, just get the right shade. You need many layers.

Re: Channel 4 3D week starts 16th Nov

It is rather silly that TV and Satellite Week gave out free ones two or three months ago for one Chuck episode on Virgin and this full series of programmes gets zero support from any TV magazine or newspaper.

Either says a lot about Channel 4s lack of money or TV mags/newspapers faith in them.

But it will badly hit the viewing figures as I have been to our only Sainsbury's twice and neither time have they had any.

Re: Channel 4 3D week starts 16th Nov

I thought Paul O Grady would be in 3D too? WOW!!!

What, he's going to be doing a record for most objects thrown at camera or something lol.

None left at my branch. You can't even get any from Channel 4 by post. Fail.
