Thanks: Gave 294, Got 420 | Mark Gatiss to be one of the First Men In The Moon
Mark Gatiss is to make his own adaption of the HG Wells' novel First Men In The Moon for BBC4. BBC - Press Office - Mark Gatiss and Rory Kinnear to star in The First Men In The Moon
It could be interesting.

I remember our Primary 5 teacher (7 or 8 years old at the time) reading the class this story, and to me it was amazing. I was transfixed by the idea of men being on the Moon. I can still see some of the images in my head that her words created in my little peabrain at the time.
It's a quality story and a BBC adaptation of it could be something special. I hope it's as captivating as Miss Banks' story was all those years ago.
Cheers

Cheers | Bless you mate.
I doubt if any TV/film version will live up to your wonderful memory. I hope it doesn't disappoint you too much.
All the very best

Well I'm a big fan of mark Gatiss, so I'm sure he'll do the best within the BBC budget!

I really liked his short ghost story series, The Crooked House (?), that was on last year. I think he'll do a decent job.
As long as the BBC don't let it anywhere near the hands of whatever hooligans are responsible for the shameful raping that's been dished out to poor old Robin Hoodie and Merlin, then I'll be happy enough
