Shows that demand repeat viewing.

Does anyone watch a television show more than once through? Is it as good the second time through? Name your shows that you think deserve more than one viewing.

Re: Shows that demand repeat viewing.

Lost - I would imagine - is an obvious one for many fans of the show. I've personally seen each episode at least 4 times, and whist a repeat viewing will never beat seeing an episode for the first time, I've always really enjoyed going back and re-watching old episodes with the knowledge of what will happen in future episodes.

Scrubs is another show that I've re-watched a lot. I would put an estimate that I've seen each episode at least ten times - for no particular reason other than I love the show.

I plan to give Oz, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under second viewings at some point, and I'll likely do the same with Dexter and Breaking Bad when they finish up.

For the most part, however, I'm really not a fan of re-watching TV series. I'll re-watch movies all day, but a TV series has to be something quite special for me to put in that extra time all over again.

Re: Shows that demand repeat viewing.

30 Rock with out a doubt, just sooo funny, Tina Fey is brilliant, and brilliant = sexy..
Tracy Morgan is a riot, Grand mah be tripping...
Alec Baldwin, what can I say,, where has all this comedic timing been hiding...
There are many other shows, but I find repeat viewing of this all the time, I can watch it back to back, all 3 seasons nps..

I am on to Trailer Park boys atm, Kenny Vs Spenny is too funny, even though it is at extremes edge..

Anything funny is easy to watch.

Re: Shows that demand repeat viewing.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet, it has held up pretty well. Been watching em' on ITV4.

In fact most of the best of 60's, 70's and 80's tv is on ITV4.

The Champions is a prime example.

Re: Shows that demand repeat viewing.

Babylon 5 - I have seen the show all the way through at least half-a-dozen times. While the bigger revelations and moments are not a surprise. The level of detail, the chance to pick up on hints and clues makes re watching an absolute treat. Quality story telling and the larger story arc makes it like one giant movie and each episode is like a chapter .

Farscape - watched in its entirety four times. Just such a fun show with great characters and so many other qualities.

Firefly - read Farscape.

Space above and beyond - as above

Buffy
- as above

Titus - have only seen twice but after my first viewing on DVD I started over again within a couple of weeks.

The IT Crowd - I've lost track of how many times we have watched it again - mostly to share it with friends visiting on vacation.

Re: Shows that demand repeat viewing.

X-Files - I have all nine seasons and they stand up well to repeated viewing. Also planning to re-visit Miami Vice and Seinfeld soon.

Aside from vintage stuff I find Two And A Half Men very re-watchable, there are always old episodes on Paramount and it still makes me laugh.

glad i got something non hbo in there

i'm omitting the comedies you tend to see over and over again on tv, i'm finding some of the friends episodes hilarious now that i haven't seen them in 5+ years

Band of Brothers IS out on BR and would be my first choice, along with "the world at war" which used to be on UK history on a loop. Reckon ive seen them all 5 times and some episodes 7 or 8.

Sopranos defiantely.

Got back into Miami Vice for a period about 5 years ago. In my view i hghgly under rated show at the time.

Comedy can often age less well, although the blackadders are always good.
