Ok just gone back to BBC HD after going to BBC2 and it seems ok now.

Nope it's doing it for me too, plus picture breakup.

The initial broadcasts of the Electric Proms were a farce last year too; dire sound + switching back and forth between SD and HD. They fixed the issues for the repeat broadcasts though, so hopefully they'll get it right at the 2nd attempt this year too.

Yeah, it seems ok now; didn't switch channels - it just fixed itself for me. Hopefully it'll stay this way and it's just one song they managed to completely mangle.

Just watched a HD recording of this programme (Virgin Media). There was an apology at the end of the programme from the BBC about the sound faults.
