Re: your best and worst HD channels?

I'd say Luxe was pretty average plus a lot of what it shows is low motion so would look better. SciFi put a lot of rubbish on but if you watch Dollhouse or Knight Rider, the PQ is pretty good. FX is pretty decent too - check out Dexter and True Blood.

Maybe you're too used to bluray as HD TV is not really comparable imo.

For a bad channel try BBC HD. What was once great is now low-birate, over-sharpened mess - try watching Rivers, it probably looks better in SD!

As for best channel, Rush HD is generally very good quality especially any winter sports such as snowboarding. The detail in the snow spray, the great contrast on the mountains and blue skies etc.

Personally I don't watch much TV and just watch HD for the movies which vary though there are some very good examples such as Kung Fu Panda which is very impressive for OTA though not as sharp or vibrant as the Blu.

Re: your best and worst HD channels?

I actually love a few of the Luxe programmes. Destination/Summer Destination has some fabulous segments showing the scenery of South Africa, the Seychelles and incredible desert/seascapes of Oman etc.I keep them to show visitors and just to watch and relax before bed.

Re: your best and worst HD channels?

Best channels for me a BBC HD and Sky Sports HD, because they are the ones I watch the most!

So luxe HD looks great? I have no desire to watch any of the content so it's a bit pointless.

Re: your best and worst HD channels?

I only have two channels to choose from BBC HD and ITV HD

ITV HD has great movies but often deliver the best "HD experience"

BBC HD is a poor relative of its former self since the new encoders , but more importantly the recent bandwidth reductions .

Re: your best and worst HD channels?

I am only really watching one HD channel at the moment - BBC HD. Perfectly happy with the quality TBH - it's not Blu-ray standard but then I wouldn't expect it to be.

And very much enjoying Coast and Survivors in HD

Haven't watched ITV-HD - I don't think ITV have shown anything I would want to watch for years - but I hear it has a big onscreen logo? If so I don't see how it can be an enjoyable experience watching it?
