The irony of filming an episode in Canada isn't lost

A light weight start to the fourth season which I think was important as the season 3 finale was really out of tune to the rest of the series. Shawn going through the romantic holiday routine with Gus tagging along unawares was a laugh as was Lassi working for Shawn. Carey Lewes was excellent as Desperado (with 6 o's)

and lets hope we see him again playing the Raffles like Pierre Despereaux and visiting Shawns patch.

They always break the season into two sections and it normally returns in January.

I have been disappointed, one or two magic eps but fewer laugh out loud moments this first part of S4 imho, and much less from supporting characters (budgetary reasons?), especially Jules

Although it's back again in the new year ... won't there be a Christmas episode as per usual? As also mentioned by one of them in a recent ep ... something like "we solve a case every week, and at Christmas"

- always love the Shawn/Henry Christmas present game.

any thoughts about the move to wednesdays? I like it...been rewatching the episodes online jan 27th seems so far away, but i'm definitely excited.

To be honest the broadcast day in the US doesn't make any difference to me purely as a viewer who will be watching the ep the day after regardless.
I'm not sure how USA is performing on the night compared to other cable/sat let alone network channels but they must think it can do the business.

I tend to look at the TVByTheNumbers website as that collates the numbers and normally has some interesting op ed pieces on it plus Alan Sepinwall who I think is a decent TV critic is one of the main contributors.

USA have pretty much got a show on at 10 through the week so I guess its an NBC tactic to pick up viewers they are losing/never had due to Leno on the broadcast networks.

- might also be a cheeky reference to Vincent D’Onofrio leaving L&O: Criminal Intent at the start of the next season, and the laying off of a few other castmembers as a result (Eames and the Captain ... show will focus on one detective pairing again .. Goldblum and his new partner) ... so perhaps Roday is reassuring Hill that it won't happen to him ??

Great to have the show back wrestling references and all and John Cena was fine although hard to imagine his character him being Jules brother and yeah Robert Patrick in uniform, no one does it better.
Waited to the weekend to watch the show, it's not a mid-week show

Come on, Sarah Shahi & Stacey Kiebler in the same show at the same time, don't they want us to get into the story rather than just look at two very attractive actresses

The eye-candy aside it was great to see Gus with a steady girlfriend who had been kept under wraps to avoid Shawn doing his usual possessive and paranoia act and then when he relents and is happy for Gus it's Gus that has issues with keeping things from Shawn.
Loved the scene with Lassie as Gus tries to look casual
