TV Shows on a loop

Some shows seem to be constantly on the telly but I never really watch them as I like to watch stuff from the beginning but there is no easy way to work out when I should start tuning in.

So can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction to discover when the following shows will be looping back to the beginning of their run.

House
CSI (which ever was the original series)
The Wire
Medium
Heroes
ST:TNG
Dr Who (The Christopher Eccleston ones)

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) you can go to the shows page and get a series list and episode list as well.

Re: TV Shows on a loop

Unfortunately, the shows you list run over multiple seasons and you'll find that different channels own rights to different seasons of the same show.

Had thought of similar but was looking for someone to pop up and give me an answer. Perhaps a more detailed online Radio Times thingy.

Digi guide is well respected, but comes with a small fee. There is trial period though.

Exactly, take Medium.

The BBC have had first run rights to this up to series 4 and have been showing early series 1 and 2 repeats.

Sci Fi have the rerun rights and have been repeating series 3 and 4.

Both of the above still are, I think.

However, Living has won the first run rights to series 5 and will show this (the most recent screened in the US earlier this year) - believed to be from late August.

Hallmark is screening early series reruns of House (Sky 1 only has the most current series being screened right now).

Indeed Hallmark is probably your best bet for searching US series as they screen a lot, mostly older series of current hits (though they have some first run rights to big shows such as Law and Order: SVU and Criminal Intent, but not Law and Order proper - Sky has the first run rights to this and starts series 18 next Tuesday at 23.00....this is the first episode in which Linus Roache, UK actor son of Ken Barlow's Bill Roache, becomes a main cast member).

Hallmark have a good website that tells you what series and episodes are being shown.

But Digiguide is fantastic for info like this as it often lists weeks ajead, gives data on series and episode numbers and is very searchable. It is not free but is a great piece of software for TV lovers lost in the multichannel maze.

Re: TV Shows on a loop

First series of Doc Who started a few days ago this week on BBC 3. It on everyday at 7pm.

The first season has been on Five USA for a while recently. They like to show the whole series out of order so one episode will be season 2, then 1 and then up 5 so it is impossible to keep track.

The last season of Star Trek TNG on Virgin 1 is 3 episodes from finishing so it may go back to the beginning soon (probably Monday).

It'll be great to see those William Hartnell episodes again.

Yes (plus the DVD saids so). The current Dr Who to me is nothing to do with the old series so it is series 1. There was a 16 year gap afterall. Even the IMDB has them separate. You wouldn't have the old Avengers series and New Avengers together.
