TV shows you have been sad to see go

I was thinking about shows that had really touched me in some way and that I was sad to see go.

There are a lot of series that I have enjoyed over the years but some of them needed to end when they did (Friends, The Shield, Seinfeld etc) and also some were just finished off really well (The Wire)

So it can be shows that were cancelled before their time or shows that you have really gotten into and were gutted that they finished and wanted more.

For me:

The Unit - cancelled recently and for me before its time. Really enjoyed this show and I will really miss it.

Six Feet Under - from an emotional standpoint I think I was probably most sad to see this finish. Just a stunning show and had some really valid things to say about life and how you live it. The end sequence for me was one of the most emotional scenes ever filmed!

Everwood - a show about a more simple life and there were no drive by's or other such unpleasantries. Just really got into it and was really sad when it finished.

Journeyman - I enjoyed this show and thought it had more to offer. Was a really interesting concept and I do love anything time travel related.

Deadwood - Just not sure why they binned this. Everyone thought it was a superb show and it had fairly good viewing figures and won some awards.

I am sure there are loads more and I will add them when they come to me!

Nice thread,

two off the top of my head are

Farscape

&

Roswell

And I wish some series were longer with less waiting in between such as Primeval

Cheers,

Graham

Re: TV shows you have been sad to see go

Everybody loves Raymond. Far funnier than Friends (and I love Friends), only American comedy to come close to Only Fools and Horses for regular moments.

The Riches. I think Eddie Izzard is very underated as a straight actor and this was axed without a proper ending after Season 2. This had plenty of milage left in it IMO but US viewing figures not high enough.

OZ - They could of carried it on forever.
Invasion - Excellent show which took a while to get going but once it did they gave it the chop.
Firefly - Why did they bin this?
Journey Man - A good show which should of stayed.
The Unit - It was a sin to can this show.
X-Files - A classic which could of gone on for longer

Day Break
Star Trek Enterprise
Atlantis
Blade
Over There
My Worst Enemy
Life

I was going to list Daybreak as it was very good but i think 1 series was good enough, not sure how they could of carried it on.
But i would of certainly watched another series of it.

I didn't realise at first there was a second half to the last season

There's me sitting down to watch the final episode (last episode of season six pt1) and it just ends with them all sitting round the christmas tree

(don't suppose it's much worse than the real ending)

Really wanted more from Deadwood and Carnivale. Gutted about My Name Is Earl. Love Prison Break but it least it ended with a conclusion for a change.

Re: TV shows you have been sad to see go

For me:

Firefly - after only 1 season as well!!!

The Wire - one of the best cop shows ever

Battlestar Galactica - best scif Fi series ever? I think possibly

Star Trek Deep Space Nine - so much different than the others

ER - I suppose after so many seasons it had to finish

I read the reviews (gritty drama etc.. etc..) and 'obtained' all seasons' as i was sure I'd like it..

Liked the first 2 seasons but it all went downhill from there. Other than the lead character (lawyer bloke) and his Aryan 'friend' none of the characters or plots were strong enough to grab me and make me watch the next episode

I have just called the men in white coats to take you away. First dropping the pc and going to a ps3 and now OZ. Conclusive proof that a padded cell is needed.

Seriously mate OZ has no main characters and the show just gets better and better as it goes along. I am gutted that you dropped it and didn't enjoy watching it. You seriously are the first person I have heard say you didn't like it after 3 seasons.

Re: TV shows you have been sad to see go

My list is:

The Unit - Awesome series, can't believed they cancelled.
Arrested Development - Hilarious stuff, just glad they are doing a film.
Jericho - Great post apocalyptic series, saved by the fans with the 'nuts' campaign but only given a 7 episode 2nd series.
Battlestar Galactica - Amazing Sci-fi series, at least it came to a natural conclusion.
