Rubicon - (US Season 1 + Spoilers)
Rubicon - new AMC show that revolves around a secret society that pulls the strings on the world political stage. Inspired by the suspenseful, high-stakes political thrillers of the 1970s such as The Parallax View, All the President's Men and Three Days of the Condor, the show is set in an influential think tank in New York and revolves around Will, a highly gifted but emotionally shut down policy analyst, who discovers that his employers are not who they seem to be. A series of suspicious events leads Will to believe an invisible hand with an unknown agenda has been steering the think tank's work all along. The one-hour, 12-episode weekly series will be produced by Warner Horizon Television. Rubicon marks the third series order from AMC, the other being Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

From Writer and Executive Producer Jason Horwitch.

Stars James Badge Dale (The Pacific, The Departed, Chase in 24), Lili Taylor (Six Feet Under), and Miranda Richardson (The Crying Game)

Looking forward to this. The political conspiracy angle will be interesting, and the production company behind it has a reputation of making quality television programs, so it should have high production values and be well written. Hopefully it is as good as I imagine it will be.

Pilot Episode - 8/10

Interesting start in the murky, shadowy world of conspiracies via hidden messages in everyday life. The pilot was somewhat low key as to what it was all about, we didn't really find out anything, but the potential is there to craft a good thriller. Worth checking out.

it looked like it had potential to be quite good, but also a brainache. even lost didn't keep the answers as far away from the viewer as this. you are just left wondering what's going on

it looks well written and made and acted etc, but could be hard going

I wouldn't worry ... since AMC's cable, they've more respect for their dramas, and tend not to flush them down the crapper and replace them with celebrity dance shows

The series will officially starts on August 1st, with the pilot we have seen, looking forward to the rest of the episodes though.

Episode 7: The Truth Will Out - 8/10

The FBI take over API to out a security leak. If that is a listening bug in the golden owl?, they can hear someone is messing with it/opening it up, but Will seems to scared to remove it.

I thought the first episode was excellent and reminded me of that news story of the >British code breaker being found dead in his MI6 flat<. Brilliant cast and paced for me so far although I can see why some might describe it as slow. AMC really are making some excellent shows at the moment and with The Walking Dead on the way this trend seems to continue I never saw the Numb3rs, has anyone else seen both Rubicon and Numb3rs ? Are they very similar shows ?

Brilliant series, one of the best i've seen in years. Good cast and acting, and a bit more on the cerebral than most of the stuff that floats around.

if you dont like the first 1 or 2 episodes, which set the tone, you will not like the rest. I think its very good.

I reckon you and the missus would enjoy it. Its a slow burner but the characters are pretty complex with a nice healthy amount of baggage. Watched the 2nd and 3rd Eps last night and its definitely a keeper for me.

Enjoyed episodes 8-10, yes the pace of each episode is almost the same, even the tension, but the characters make it compelling.

When I started watching this, I imagined conspiracy theories, code breaking etc. But the show was completely different and not normally something I would watch.
But as the season has SLOWLY progressed, it's become one of my favourite new shows. The storytelling and acting are spot on and now that it has picked up a bit of pace, it's getting better every week.

No season 2, another one bites the dust, darn it.
